An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving data in a mobile communication system using multiple antennas are provided. A receiver estimates a fading channel of received data, selects a weight set relative to a maximum data transmission rate from at least one weight set with elements of a plurality of orthogonal weight vectors, and transmits feedback information including the selected weight set and channel-by-channel state information to a transmitter. The transmitter demultiplexes data to be transmitted on a basis of the feedback information into at least one sub-data stream, multiplies each sub-data stream by an associated weight, and transmits the data.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided for decoding a channel in a communication system using a LDPC code. A shortening pattern and a puncturing pattern are determined based on a received signal. A value of a shortened bit is set to 0 according to the determined shortening pattern, erasures are set according to the determined puncturing pattern, and LDPC decoding is performed, when bits exist which have been used to perform shortening or puncturing. Determining the shortening pattern and the puncturing pattern includes setting a predetermined ratio of the number of punctured bits to the number of shortened bits.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for transmitting a symbol group in a mobile communication system. The method includes generating a symbol group to which an orthogonal sequence is applied; mapping the generated symbol group to an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple (OFDM) symbol based on a symbol group index and a Physical HARQ Indicator Channel (PHICH) group index; and transmitting the mapped symbol group. The generated symbol group is mapped to the OFDM symbol in an alternating pattern in accordance with the symbol group index.

A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting control information in a base station for a wireless communication system. The method includes transmitting, to a terminal, information associated with a number of Control Channel Elements (CCEs) included in control channels, determining a set of control channel candidates based on an IDentifier (ID) of the terminal and the information associated with the number of CCEs; selecting at least one control channel candidate from among the set of control channel candidates; and transmitting the control information to the terminal through the selected at least one control channel candidate.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting uplink control information by a UE in a mobile communication system. It is identified whether signaling information indicating simultaneous transmission of first uplink control information and second uplink control information is received. It is determined whether a transmission time of the first uplink control information overlaps a transmission time of the second uplink control information. The first uplink control information is transmitted without the second uplink control information, in case that the transmission times overlap each other and the signaling information is not received.

A method and apparatus are provided for receiving acknowledgement information by a base station in a wireless communication system. The method includes transmitting control information for uplink transmission of acknowledgement information, the control information including at least one of information associated with a cyclic shift of a sequence or information for identifying a first resource block (RB) to be used for the uplink transmission of the acknowledgement information; and receiving the acknowledgement information from a user equipment based on the control information.
Abstract:
A method for allocating resources in a mobile communication system is provided. The resource allocation method includes determining whether a transmission time of response information indicating presence/absence of an error in received data overlaps a transmission time of channel state information; and when the transmission times overlap each other, allocating, to the response information, a resource block for the channel state information, cyclic shift values in a frequency domain, and orthogonal sequences having orthogonality in a time domain.

A method and an apparatus are provided for transmitting and receiving signaling information in a digital broadcasting system. First signaling information for a physical layer is encoded to generate a first coded block. Second signaling information is encoded to generate a second coded block. A frame including the first coded block, the second coded block and at least one physical layer pipe (PLP) data is transmitted. The first signaling information has a fixed number of bits. The second signaling information has a variable number of bits. The first signaling information includes information indicating a forward error correction (FEC) type of the second signaling information for receiving the second information. The second signaling information includes information indicating an FEC type used for a related PLP data.
