Abstract:
A leg massage device which comprises a power transmission means having an adjusting stand disposed on a chair. On the adjusting stand a driving shaft is defined having a lateral end connected to a power supplier. Two rollers are coaxially disposed at both ends of the driven shaft of the power transmission means, each of which is provided with a pair of opposite discs and a pair of opposite rotor discs respectively. An oscillating board assembly including two outer oscillating boards and two inner oscillating boards which is fixed to the rotor discs of the two rollers respectively in a manner that the outer oscillating boards located opposite to the inner oscillating boards in pairs. Two wheel units are coaxially disposed around the periphery of the two rollers respectively and located between the outer oscillating boards and the inner oscillating boards. Each of the wheel units including a pair of massage members each having a rod inserted therein first and then to be disposed between the discs of the two rollers, such that the wheel units are disposed in an interactive manner.
Abstract:
A pivotal lever has a first therapeutic member and a second therapeutic member positioned below the first member, for the members to grip and knead the shoulder of the person to be massaged as by the fingers of the acupressurist. A massage unit 20 comprises a pair of left and right pivotal levers 100 pivotally movably arranged on a chassis 21, and a first therapeutic member 200 and a second therapeutic member 300 arranged on each of the pivotal levers 100 and movable toward and away from each other. The first and second therapeutic members 200, 300 have motion conversion means 400 coupled thereto for converting the pivotal movement of the pivotal lever 100 into the movement of the first and second therapeutic members 200, 300 toward and away from each other. The first and second therapeutic members 200, 300 grip the shoulder of the person when moved toward each other and release the shoulder from the gripping action when moved away from each other to thereby cause the members to simulate the gripping and kneading movement of the acupressurist.
Abstract:
In operating a massaging machine having massaging members and a motor for causing the massaging members to vibrate to massage a patient, a pulsed driving signal is applied to the motor for repetitively switching on and off the motor for specified time lengths such that the motor is intermittently activated, rather than continuously.
Abstract:
A massaging apparatus in which a position of a specific portion such as a user's shoulder with respect to the massaging apparatus can be determined automatically and accurately in a simple construction. The massaging apparatus includes a supporting arm having a therapeutic member pivotally supported thereon and freely movable along the user's body. The position of the specific portion of the user with respect to the massaging apparatus is determined from the relation between the vertical position of the supporting arm and the pivotal position of the supporting arm. A pivotal movement detecting system detects that the supporting arm reaches a prescribed range of pivotal movement is provided. The position of the specific portion of the user with respect to the massaging apparatus is determined from the position of the supporting arm at the moment when the pivotal movement of the supporting arm reaches the prescribed range.

Abstract:
The invention provides a massage machine wherein massage arms provided with kneading balls are held inclined forward to give a suitable massage. The massage machine comprises a kneading shaft (40) disposed on the massage unit (20) substantially horizontally, pivotal levers (33),(33) supported by the kneading shaft (40), massage arms (32),(32) supported by forward ends of the respective pivotal lever and kneading balls (31),(31) provided on the respective massage arms each at a position obliquely above the position where the massage arm is supported by the pivotal lever. An arm lock mechanism (80) is coupled to the massage unit for holding the kneading balls pushed out forward, and the arm lock mechanism tiltably supports arm lock rods (83),(83) each having one end connected to the massage arm at a position away from the position where the massage arm is supported by the pivotal lever. Each of the arm lock rods is forwardly tiltable by the arm lock mechanism to hold the massage arm with the kneading ball pushed out forward.
Abstract:
Massage device for an item of furniture for sitting and/or lying on, having a first shaft and a second shaft which are supported parallel with one another in a frame, and having at least one arm which carries at least one massage body, the arm being coupled to the two shafts in such a manner that a rotation of the shafts brings about a massage movement of the massage body in a first and/or second direction. Elements are also provided for displacing the massage body relative to the frame and they are formed by a mechanism for changing the distance between the two shafts.
Abstract:
A massage machine is provided which is adapted to give a suitable massage in accordance with the degree of stiffness or degree of relaxation of the person to be massaged, based on the results obtained by measuring the body outline of the person and physiological data as to the person such as the pulse rate and skin temperature. The massage machine comprises means for measuring the body outline of the person, and means for measuring physiological data concerning the person and produced by massaging the person. The body outline measuring means detects the body outline of the person, such as the position of the neck, shoulder, back and waist, while the physiological data measuring means discriminates between the part of great stiffness and the part of low stiffness so as to give an effective massage in accordance with the degree of stiffness.
Abstract:
In a massage device, a rotary drive shaft is disposed uprightly in a hollow casing. Parallel upper and lower output shafts are mounted transversely in the casing, and have opposite end portions that extend out of the casings. An upper gear set includes an upper drive gear sleeved rigidly on the drive shaft for co-rotation therewith, and an upper driven gear meshing with the upper drive gear and connected rigidly to the upper output shaft. A lower gear set includes a lower drive gear disposed coaxially on the drive shaft, and a lower driven gear meshing with the lower drive gear and connected rigidly to the lower output shaft. A unidirectional bearing is disposed between the drive shaft and the lower drive gear to prevent rotation of the drive shaft from being transmitted to the lower output shaft when the drive shaft rotates in a first direction, while permitting rotation of the drive shaft to be transmitted to the lower output shaft when the drive shaft rotates in a second direction opposite to the first direction. Two linkage units, disposed on the lateral sides of the casing, are mounted on the end portions of the output shafts and are provided with massaging wheels.
Abstract:
A massage chair capable of massaging even the foot by utilizing a whirlpool formed by the spouting of water is disclosed, in which the chair can be moved back and forth, its seatback can be reclined, and the instep and the sole of the foot can be massaged. The massage chair includes a supporting structure 20 and a seat 10. The seat 10 consists of a seat cushion 11 mounted and secured upon the supporting structure 20, and a seatback 12 upstanding on a rear edge of the seat cushion 11. A massaging mechanism 50 is internally installed within the seatback 12, and a seat moving mechanism 40 moves the seat cushion 11 back and forth. A foot bath tub 30 is formed on the supporting structure 20 in front of the seat cushion 11, and the foot bath tub 30 has water spouting holes 31, 32 and 33 on its bottom, on its side walls and on its rear wall respectively, and has a water spouting shower device 34 above it.
