Abstract:
The present invention concerns a surface coating sliding member made of rubber or plastic applied with a coating of excellent durability and high sliding property, in which the coating contains a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide and a resin matrix, wherein the resin matrix comprises a fluoro-olefin vinyl ether polymer resin and/or fluoro-olefin vinyl ether vinyl ester copolymer.
Abstract:
A microlens of any designed configuration is formed as a replica in a photoresist material, and the photoresist material replica is used to reproduce the replica directly in a substrate material.
Abstract:
A high performance lubricating grease effectively lubricates and greases front-wheel drive joints. The lubricating grease has excellent extreme pressure properties and antiwear qualities and is economical, effective, and safe. In one preferred form, the lubricating grease comprises a base oil, a polyurea thickener, an additive package comprising calcium sulfate and calcium acetate.
Abstract:
A lubricating composition possessing properties highly suitable for warm and hot forging has an ultrahigh molecular polyethylene powder possessing a molecular weight of not less than 1,000,000 dispersed and contained in a medium of water or oil; has an ultrahigh molecular polyethylene powder possessing a molecular weight of not less than 1,000,000 and an inorganic solid lubricant of a white or light color dispersed and contained in a medium of water or oil; or has an ultrahigh molecular polyethylene powder possessing a molecular weight of not less than 1,000,000 and a polyethylene oxide powder possessing a melting point in the range of 80.degree. to 120.degree. C. dispersed and contained in a medium of water.
Abstract:
A dispersing agent for use in dispersing a finely divided solid powder in a nonaqueous dispersion medium and a dispersion prepared by using the dispersing agent. The dispersing agent of this invention is a low acid value lanolin fatty acid and/or a salt of the same. By means of this dispersing agent, there can be easily obtained a homogeneous and stable nonaqueous dispersion from which the incorporated solid particles will not separate out or settle even on prolonged standing. Therefore, this dispersing agent can be used advantageously in a broad range of applications such as coatings, dyes, pigments, inks, fuels, lubricating materials and so on.
Abstract:
A high performance sulfated lubricating grease effectively lubricates front-wheel drive joints as well as other equipment. The lubricating grease has excellent extreme pressure properties and antiwear qualities and is economical, effective, and safe. In one preferred form, the sulfated lubricating grease comprises a base oil, a polyurea thickener, a borated oil-separation inhibitor, and a special synergistic, additive package comprising calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate.
Abstract:
A solid lubricating composition useful for lubricating the flanges of railcar wheels and rails and for other similar applications. The lubricant composition comprises from about 16% to about 25% by weight of a polymeric carrier, from about 49% to about 63% of a lubricating oil, from about 10% to about 16% of a solid lubricating powder, and from about 6% to about 16% of a surface active agent, all percentages by weight of the total composition. The solid lubricant composition is mixed and introduced into a screw type extruder wherein it is heated and extruded through a die into a waterbath, forming an elastic rod or strand. The lubricant composition is applied to a surface to be lubricated by rubbing it onto the surface in a thin film. The surface active agent enhances the attachment and embedment of the dry lubricating powder into the surface being lubricated, the lubricant composition serving to reduce both wear and friction between contacting surfaces lubricated thereby.

Method of preparing SbSbS.sub.4 product having a low level of free sulfur impurity, which includes mixing aqueous solutions of an alkali metal thioantimonate and a halide stabilized antimony trihalide to form a reaction mixture, while maintaining the reaction mixture at a pH of less than 7, to provide the SbSbS.sub.4 product having a low level of free sulfur impurity.
Abstract:
A lubricating composition comprising (a) a lubricating oil, (b) at least one phosphite ester of pentaerythritol, and (c) at least one compound selected from phosphate monoesters and diesters and phosphonates is suitable for metal forming, particularly for plastic working of aluminum and aluminum alloy with excellent formability and heat resistance.
Abstract:
An improved lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount by weight of oil of lubricating viscosity; a minor amount by weight of solid particles effective to improve the lubricating properties of the composition; and a minor amount of a nitrogen containing mixed ester of a carboxy containing interpolymer. This composition provides improved inhibition of sludge and varnish formation in use.
