Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, which may be otherwise known as user equipment (UE), may identify a default modulation and coding scheme table and a preconfigured modulation and coding scheme table associated with a resource pool. The UE may receive, from a transmitting communication device, an indication of the preconfigured modulation and coding scheme table to use for upcoming sidelink communications. The UE may then communicate based on the preconfigured modulation and coding scheme table.

Abstract: A method for providing uplink link adaptation in 5G base stations is presented. In one embodiment the method includes computing a RSSI of each allocation measuredRSSI(i), including blocks which are unused; computing measurements upon receiving channel allocation and TPC commands from a MAC, the measurements including a revisedWidebandRSSI including a revisedRSSI(i), a lowest relative threshold of each allocation, and a revised RSSI of each allocation after applying TPC commands normalized by the revisedWidebandRSSI; when the revisedWidebandRSSI is greater than a widebandRSSlthreshold, then resetting the TPC commands to be sent to the particular UE and sending a saturation_error_indication message to the MAC; wherein when a revisedRSSlnorm(i) for at least one allocation is below the widebandRSSlthreshold, sending the quant_loss_error_indication message to the MAC along with the corresponding index of the allocation; and adapting the MCS and power control information for each of the allocations in the next subframe.

Abstract: A first communication device is configured to process packets that conform to a first physical layer (PHY) protocol for wireless vehicular communications and packets that conform to a second PHY protocol for wireless vehicular communications. The first communication device determines that one or more second communication devices neighboring the first communication device are not capable of processing packets that conform to the second PHY protocol. The first communication device transmits a first packet to a third communication device that is configured to process packets that conform to the first PHY protocol and packets that conform to the second PHY protocol. The first packet indicates that the one or more second communication devices neighboring the first communication device are not capable of processing packets that conform to the second PHY protocol to inform the third communication device of the one or more second communication devices.

Abstract: A triggering frame in a wireless network grants a medium to an AP for a TXOP. The frame defines RUs and allocates Uplink RUs to UL transmissions for an UL duration and Direct Link RUs to P2P transmissions. All the P2P exchanges are nested within the UL duration, hence avoiding an acknowledgment frame in the DiL RUs to interfere with a block-ack frame of the AP after the UL transmissions. This is relevant for DiL RUs adjacent, in frequency, to the other defined RUs. The block-ack frame is duplicated over the DiL RUs. The RU immediately adjacent to the DiL RUs is declared, in the triggering frame, as being unused: no non-AP station is allowed to use it during the UL duration, or even the TXOP. Such empty RU may be declared only in case the DiL transmission requires a response frame from the destination P2P station.

Abstract: A transmitter apparatus wherein a simple structure is used to successfully suppress the degradation of error rate performance that otherwise would be caused by fading or the like. There are included encoding parts that encode transport data; a mapping part that performs such a mapping that encoded data sequentially formed by the encoding parts are not successively included in the same symbol, thereby forming data symbols; and a symbol interleaver that interleaves the data symbols. In this way, a low computational complexity can be used to perform an interleaving process equivalent to a bit interleaving process to effectively improve the reception quality at a receiving end.

Abstract: A method for performing code block segmentation for wireless transmission using concatenated forward error correction encoding includes receiving a transport block of data for transmission having a transport block size, along with one or more parameters that define a target code rate. A number N of inner code blocks needed to transmit the transport block is determined. A number M—outer code blocks may be calculated based on the number of inner code blocks and on encoding parameters for the outer code blocks. The transport block may then be segmented and encoded according to the calculated encoding parameters.
