Abstract:
A system for printing and interacting with documents comprising: (a) a computer system configured for: receiving a print request; allocating a unique document identifier to the document in response to receiving the print request; and associating the document identifier with a description of the document; (b) a printer for printing the document containing human-readable content together with a coding pattern on a surface; and (c) an optically imaging pen for sensing a portion of the coding pattern during handwritten input on the document and for generating a signal indicative of the unique document identifier and a position of the pen relative to the document. The computer system is further configured for: receiving the signal from the pen; determining the document identifier and the position of the pen; retrieving the description associated with the document identifier; interpreting the positions as a path of handwritten input; and updating the description with information corresponding to the handwritten input.
Abstract:
An apparatus for printing graphical information on a surface. The apparatus comprises: a printhead for printing the graphical information; an image sensor for recording an image of the surface, wherein the recorded image contains a position-coding pattern that identifies an absolute position on the surface; and a processor for converting the recorded image into a recorded absolute position. The printhead prints the graphical information onto the surface based on a comparison of the recorded absolute position and the graphical information to be printed.
Abstract:
A method of authorizing users to perform a search using a computer system. The method includes providing a user with a search request form having coded data indicative of an authorization parameter. The computer system receives indicating data from a sensing device which is indicative of the authorization parameter, movement of the sensing device and an identifier. The computer system determines the authorization parameter and movement of the sensing device using the indicating data, and then authorizes the user using the determined movement, the authorization parameter and the identifier, before performing a search in response to a successful authorization.
Abstract:
An in-camera two-stage compression implementation is described that reduces the latency between snapshots to a fraction of that otherwise required by other systems that either process complete compression following each snapshot or that incorporate heavy, bulky, and expensive RAM hardware capable of maintaining several raw luminosity records (unprocessed file containing a digital image). In the 1st stage compression the raw luminosity record is quickly, yet partially, compressed to available RAM buffer space to allow a user to expeditiously capture a succeeding image. When the higher-priority processes, the user shooting pictures, and stage one compression subside, a 2nd stage compression, which is slower but more effective, decompresses the earlier partially-compressed images, and re-compresses them for saving in flash memory until they are distributed to a remote platform to be finally converted to the JPEG2000 format.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image data processing apparatus that is capable of selecting and processing particular images from among a large number of images, based on the user's actions relating to the images. An MFP 4 acquires a file information list from an imaging apparatus 2 (S3), acquires a schedule containing a date and time, a location, and so on of an action of an employee from an employee management server 3 (S5), and searches for file information sets that contain the date and time or the location corresponding to the date and time or the location indicated by the schedule (S7, S8). When any file information sets are found by the search (S7: YES, S8: YES), the image data processing apparatus acquires image data sets relating to the file information sets found by the search, and performs processing, such as printing, of the image data sets (S9).
Abstract:
A method for processing scanned image data, executed at least in part by a computer system, obtains scanned image data, obtains a predetermined image quality profile that has one or more image quality requirement values, and generates processed image data by applying one or more image processing operations to the image data in accordance with a processing script. The method calculates image quality metrics from the processed image data and compares the calculated image quality metrics to the one or more image quality requirement values from the predetermined quality profile. Results of the image quality comparison are displayed.
Abstract:
An image sensing apparatus includes an image sensing portion which generates image data of an image by image sensing, and a record control portion which records image data of a main image generated by the image sensing portion together with main additional information obtained from the main image in a recording medium, in which the record control portion records sub additional information obtained from a sub image taken at a timing different from that of the main image in the recording medium in association with the image data of the main image and the main additional information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for creation of a sound series of photographs. A sound series is produced by a camera and is audible to the user of the device. At various instants of the sound series, the user takes photographs to and the device records the instant when the photograph was taken. A table is created associating each photograph with the instant of the sequence when it was taken. The sound sequence terminates then ending the series of photograph takes. Then, the photographs are assembled to form a single panoramic image, a part of the panoramic image is then displayed by an animation. The panoramic image thus created, the sound sequence and the table are assembled to form a panoramic sound image. During the reproduction of the panoramic sound image, each photograph is displayed at the instant associated by the table. The invention also relates to a camera enabling creation of the panoramic sound image, and a device designed to reproduce the panoramic sound image.
Abstract:
A reproduction apparatus includes an attribute information recording unit for recording image attribute information in which an attribute value representing an image attribute is set for each of image, a target image selector for selecting an image of interest from among the images, a search condition setting unit for setting, as a search condition, an attribute value related to the image of interest set in the image attribute information, a reproduction information generator for generating reproduction information by setting one of pieces of image attribute information that satisfies the search condition, a search condition selector for selecting the search condition as a reproduction search condition, and a search result reproducing unit for, when the reproduction search condition is selected by the search condition selector, reproducing a search result with respect to the image of interest by displaying, on a display unit, an image whose image attribute information is designated with the reproduction information as a reproduction object.
