Abstract: A wireless audio speaker system that includes a speaker main unit and multiple functions provided by exchangeable accessories is disclosed. The speaker main unit includes a top sleeve and a bottom sleeve that covers the external surface of a more internal enclosure that houses the main unit electronics and circuitry. External electrical and mechanical connectors are configured to be positioned on speaker unit and are adapted to being connected to the accessories. One external connector is positioned on the top sleeve for passing power and audio signals between the speaker main unit and an accessory component that is mounted to the top sleeve. A second connector is configured to be positioned on the bottom sleeve for passing audio signals between the speaker main unit and a second speaker that is stacked to the bottom sleeve via stacking plate. Multiple exchangeable accessory components are described to seamlessly supplement functionality and enhance user experience.

Abstract: A pair of subwoofer speakers mounted on a carrier in a ceiling speaker enclosure having a small acoustic port using an acoustic channel shell that extends from the enclosure, the output of which is directed by adjustable attachment of a director to the acoustic channel shell. An annular flange on the director is used to clamp to a bottom surface of a ceiling tile. The enclosure has braces for engaging grid members of a suspended ceiling support grid. The braces are independently extendable from the enclosure. The subwoofer speakers at least partially face each other. Vibration damping approaches are used. An audio controller may be used to control the phases of the audio signals to the subwoofer speakers to permit a push-pull synchronization strategy.

Abstract: Provided is a sound device having a membrane attached between a case and an electro-acoustic transducer using an adhesive foam tape, thereby enabling the prevention of a deterioration of vibration amplitude-related properties of the membrane, and the prevention of a distortion of sound that is being delivered. The sound device includes: a waterproof air-permeable membrane permeating gas entering and exiting an electro-acoustic transducer disposed inside the sound-transmitting hole and blocking the inflow of water; and a first adhesive foam tape having one side adhered to the membrane and the other side adhered to the case to adhere an edge of the membrane to a periphery of the sound-transmitting hole of the case. The first adhesive foam tape is provided with a plurality of pores formed on adhesive surfaces of the one side and the other side respectively bonded to the membrane and the case and filled with an adhesive material.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to speakers and more specifically to an array speaker for distributing music uniformly across a room. A number of audio drivers can be radially distributed within a speaker housing so that an output of the drivers is distributed evenly throughout the room. In some embodiments, the exit geometry of the audio drivers can be configured to bounce off a surface supporting the array speaker to improve the distribution of music throughout the room. The array speaker can include a number of vibration isolation elements distributed within a housing of the array speaker. The vibration isolation elements can be configured reduce the strength of forces generated by a subwoofer of the array speaker.

Abstract: An enclosure for an electronic device is enclosed. The enclosure includes rib structures configured to improve structural support to prevent damage and to dissipate vibration throughout the enclosure. The rib structure can receive a speaker module and a cap member. The rib structure and the speaker module can combine to form a three-dimensional volume allowing the speaker module in which the speaker module may project sound, thereby enhancing acoustic performance. Also, the cap member may be adhesively attached to the rib structure to provide additional structural support against vibration and abuse caused by load forces associated with a drop event.

Abstract: An audio demonstration kit encourages understanding of audio concepts by enabling children to construct and study speaker performance. In a particular embodiment, the audio demonstration kit includes a paper speaker and instructions. The paper speaker includes a backplate, a suspension, and a diaphragm cut from a single sheet of paper. The demonstration kit may feature an amplifier that is configurable to accommodate various hardware additions as a child is ready for more progressively challenging construction. For example, the amplifier of an embodiment allows single and dual mode operation, as well as drives a rotary motor and is coordinated with a strobe light. The amplifier of an embodiment is synchronized with the strobe light and a moveable platform to create the impression of that jiggling figures attached to the table are dancing. Interfaces with smart phone, recording, and other technologies further enhances and encourages the learning experience.
