Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a computer program product for generating a high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) voxel data set of an object. The high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) voxel data set is generated with the aid of a computed tomography scanner. In some aspects of the present disclosure a 3D image data set is generated by acquiring computed tomography images of the object. In other aspects of the present disclosure the 3D voxel data set of the object is generated with the aid of an image data reconstruction algorithm.

Abstract: The invention relates to the coding and decoding of data, in particular for visual representation. For this, a method (100) is provided for coding an initial data set (110), in which a respective initial data value (P1, P2, P3, P4) is established for a respective plurality of initial data points (112), for generating a compressed data set (114), comprising a primary coding of the initial data set (110) to generate an intermediate data set (116) and a secondary coding of the intermediate data set (116) to generate the compressed data set (114). In this way, the primary coding comprises the following steps: establishing a plurality of data point blocks (118), each having a plurality of initial data points (112) of the initial data set (110); determining a block data value (120) for each data point block (118) from the plurality of initial data values (P1, P2, P3, P4) within the respective data point block (118); checking each data point block (118) for compliance with a tolerance criterion; and generating the intermediate data set (116) in such a way that the intermediate data set (116) contains the block data value (120) as an individual data value for each data point block (118) in which the tolerance criterion is observed, and same contains the individual initial data values (P1, P2, P3, P4) at the initial data points (112) of the respective data point block (118) for each data point block (118) in which the tolerance criterion is not observed.

Abstract: In a method for impregnating semi-finished fibrous products using resin as the impregnating means, winding or laying the semi-finished fibrous products in a plurality of layers on top of one another onto a receiving carrier is initially performed. Here, lower layers lie close to the receiving carrier, and upper layers lie more remote therefrom. The receiving carrier is configured so as to be permeable to the impregnating means. Abstract: A plasma thruster comprises a cylindrical discharge channel (1), an injector (4), a RF antenna surrounding the discharge channel (1) and a device (3) for generating an axial static magnetic field in the discharge channel (1). The RF antenna is a cylindrical birdcage antenna (2) formed of several electrically conductive parallel legs (10) connected by two end rings (11) including capacitors (12) between adjacent legs (10) in each case. The two end rings (11) with the capacitors (12) are formed on two printed circuit boards (14) to which the legs (10) are attached, said printed circuit boards (14) having a through opening for the discharge channel (1). The antenna maximizes electrical coupling efficiency and provides resulting electromagnetic fields for quasi-neutral plasma acceleration along with the magnetic field effect provided by the externally applied magnetic field. This plasma thruster allows an easy upscaling or downscaling due to the printed circuit boards and is particularly suitable for low power applications like propulsion for smaller spacecrafts or satellites.

Abstract: A method for improving time planning in time-critical networks is proposed. This is done by means of a computer network with a plurality of network users. To carry out the method, all network users along a transmission path from a network user functioning as a transmitter to a network user functioning as a receiver are first detected. Once these network users are known, the longest possible transfer time for a data stream between any two network users along the transmission path is calculated according to an interference model or an end-to-end model. The longest possible transfer time between a transmitter and a receiver is then calculated by summing the calculated transfer times. This transfer time between the transmitter and the receiver that is calculated in this way can then be taken as a basis for the time planning in the network.
