Abstract:
The invention solves the problem of providing a tampon (1) having a hollow space for receiving a capsule. The capsule may e.g. contain a vibration element. The hollow space is formed by a hollow body (5) that is open on at least one side and is surrounded by the absorbent material (2), preferably wrapped with the latter, on at least part of its length.
Abstract:
A therapy wrap for treatment of at least a portion of an animate body having improved kink resistance. The therapy wrap may be selectively reinforced for improved kink resistance in only a portion of the wrap. The reinforcement may decrease the kink radius. The wrap may include a kink reducer in all or only a selected kink-prone region. The kink reducer may be selectively configured attachment points or spot welds. The therapy wrap may include a reinforcement layer of one or more discrete reinforcement members. The wrap may be formed by pre-tensioning the material layers while forming the fluid bladder and/or gas pressure bladder. The therapy wrap may be adapted to compensate for conditions that normally cause kinking of the wrap or buckling of the fluidic channels. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing the wrap and methods of administering a temperature-controlled treatment to an anatomical body part.
Abstract:
The invention is to provide a pressurized gas mist bathing system, ensuring hygiene and reduction in costs, by making only one part of the system disposable. This system causes a mist to contact the skin or the mucous membrane of a living body in a high pressure not less than a predetermined value, the mist is prepared by pulverizing liquid and the mist of micron size dissolving oxygen and/or carbon dioxide gases and comprises a gas supply means 10; a gas mist generating means 30 having a fluid nozzle 32 of generating the gas mist and a liquid storage 34 of storing liquid; a pressure cover 50 for covering the skin and the mucous membrane of the living body and formed with a space for sealing inside the gas mist supplied from the gas mist generating means 30; and a humors circulating means 41 for circulating the liquid from the liquid storage 34 of the gas mist generating means 30 to the fluid nozzle 32 and wherein, in the gas mist generating means 30, at least the liquid storage 34 is displaceable and replaced by another liquid storage.
Abstract:
A glove for administering acupressure therapy has a front side having five finger extensions and a pocket at a tip of each of the finger extensions, and a rear side connected to the front side to form a glove with an opening at a bottom edge thereof. There are a plurality of projections that are adapted to be removably placed in each one of the pockets. The projections are of various sizes, so that the acupressure therapist can formulate a glove that is customized to the therapy to be administered.
Abstract:
The disclosed upper body attachment, which may be used with a piece of exercising, stretching, or massaging equipment that incorporates whole body vibration (WBV) technology, provides a user with a way to apply WBV technology to the upper body. The attachment may include a pair of uprights and a crossbar to which a variety of types of handles may be slidably attached. The attachment may have a base that both supports the uprights and connects the uprights with the equipment incorporating the WBV technology. Accordingly, the attachment transfers vibrations from the vibrating equipment to the handles that a user grips. Several exemplary WBV upper body exercises that the attachment facilitates include push-ups, pull-ups, and dips.
Abstract:
A system to cause instability for a person supported by a person support surface is disclosed. The system is configured to cause the person supported by the person support surface to compensate for the instability caused by the system in order to exercise their core or trunk region.
Abstract:
A handheld, electromechanical device useful in mammalian body-care includes a one-piece housing, a unitary insert, and a removable cover. The one-piece housing has a single opening defined by a rim. The rim circumscribes a rim area, and the one-piece housing has a projected area that is substantially larger than the rim area. The unitary insert is dimensioned to be insertable through the opening defined by the rim, and it has a frame having disposed thereon electromechanical elements interconnected in an electrical circuit. The cover is arranged and configured to close the opening of the one-piece housing.
Abstract:
An external prosthetic penile device includes a substantially cylindrical structure having openings at its proximal end and a distal end. The substantially cylindrical structure includes a tubular channel that extends and tapers within the substantially cylindrical structure from the proximal end to the distal end. The tubular channel connects said proximal and distal end openings in a fluid connection. The opening at the proximal end includes a funnel, said funnel having a substantially conical mouth, wherein said substantially conical mouth has a circumference that is adapted to rest substantially against a pubic region surrounding a human's genitals. The circumference is also dimensioned to at least substantially encompass the genitals when the circumference is fitted against the pubic region. The substantially cylindrical structure is configured to resemble a flaccid human penis such that the distal opening corresponds to the external urethral orifice.
Abstract:
An inexpensive and disposable dispenser has few parts. The dispenser has a housing with a reservoir of fluid therein. The housing has a valve seat and a valve. The valve is biased in a closed position by resilient spring arms. Each spring arm has a fixed end coupled to the housing and a free end that contacts a rounded or inclined surface of the valve in a location that is offset from a centerline of movement. As the valve moves to an open position, the spring arms flex with the free ends moving apart. When the spring arms straighten and the free ends move closer to each other, the valve is moved to the closed position. The dispenser can be manipulated by a hand or by a massager. A massager imparts vibrations to the valve by way of the housing and the spring arm. The dispenser can be used to work the fluid into an object such as human skin.
Abstract:
A spa pool assembly has a pool having an enclosing wall and a base that together defines an interior. The base has a plurality of inflatable sections that are divided by at least one air passage. A hose delivers air from outside the pool to the air passage, with the hose extending partially inside the enclosing wall and having a U-shaped section extending outside the enclosing wall at a vertical level that is higher than the top of the enclosing wall.
