Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide an exercise or yoga mat either in one layer or multi layer configuration. According to an embodiment, the exercise mat includes a base layer having a pair of opposed flat surfaces, a pair of horizontal sides, and a pair of vertical sides, a plurality of structures protruding upward from an upper surface of the pair of opposed flat surfaces, the plurality of structures are of a predefined shape and extends up to a predefined height and are distributed throughout the upper surface of the pair of opposed flat surfaces in essentially uninterrupted fashion in order to provide a grip and a stimulating effect to hands and feet to a user exercising on the exercise mat, and a plurality of recesses positioned opposite to the positions of the plurality of structures and underside onto a bottom surface of the pair of opposed flat surface.
Abstract:
An arm therapy device for the prevention and treatment of repetitive stress injuries of the elbow, forearm, and wrist. The arm therapy device generally includes a housing adapted to be freestanding in an upright manner. The housing includes an upper opening which provides access to the interior of the housing. Rollers across the interior of the housing comprising pairs of rollers which are biased inwardly toward each other. Bias members such as resistance bands may be utilized to bias each pair of rollers toward each other. Collars may be utilized on the rollers to which the bias members are connected. By using the present invention, one may treat a limb such as an arm without having to support the housing with another hand or another person. As the limb passes through the housing, the rollers will exert pressure on the limb which aids in treating or preventing repetitive stress injuries.
Abstract:
An apparatus for improving flexibility and its method of use are provided. The apparatus features a flexible member, which can have varying degrees of stiffness and flexibility, based on user preference. Further, the apparatus features a first and second auxiliary grip, as well as a first and second primary grip. In conjunction, these grips provide a vast multitude of ways to grip the apparatus, enabling it to be used in a wide variety of stretches and exercises, promoting strength as well as joint mobility and flexibility.
Abstract:
A rebound and balance training device includes a frame, a footboard, and a plurality of resilient spring elements extending between and attached to the frame and the footboard to support the footboard above a supporting surface. A user standing on the footboard manually effects repeated vertical bouncing movement between upper and lower positions. The distance traveled by the footboard, the effort required to effect movement, and the stability thereof may be modified by selectively modifying the number, the length, the position, or the elasticity of the resilient elements. In one embodiment, a pair of footboards is employed to simulate skiing movements.
Abstract:
A hand therapy kit includes a housing having a lid that is expandable from a folded position to an unfolded position to expose a working surface on an inside of the lid. An elastic cord is attached at two or more anchor points on the working surface to define at least one gap for receiving a finger. The finger can be therapeutically exercised by moving from a first position proximal to the working surface to a second position distal to the working surface. The hand therapy kit can also include removable hand therapy modules.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method of construction and method of use of a strength training assembly which also has the ability of aiding in user rehabilitation. The apparatus includes an elongate bar with a first end and a second end, with a first retaining member fixed proximate to the first end, and a second retaining member capable of releasably securing one or more weights against the first retaining member.
Abstract:
A walking training apparatus includes display means disposed in front of a walking trainee, first image capturing means for taking an image of the walking trainee from a viewpoint located above the walking trainee, and display control means for controlling the display means so that a target landing point together with an image of the walking trainee taken by the first image capturing means is displayed on a display screen of the display means, the target landing point being a point on which the walking trainee should land his/her foot in a next step. The display control means controls the display means so that a center line in addition to the target landing point of the foot are displayed on the display screen of the display means, the center line indicating a center position in a left/right direction of the walking trainee.
Abstract:
An insertion apparatus for use in a vaginal or rectal cavity or a vaginal or rectal opening of the human body. The insertion apparatus has a base body, which in turn has a working body. In addition, a pulling device used for removing the working body from the cavity or the opening is firmly mounted on the base body. The pulling device is formed by a finger grip that is elastically formed, at least in part. The finger grip is elastically deformable between a neutral position and a removal position, and the finger grip is made, at least in part, of an elastic material. The insertion apparatus may in particular be configured as a massage apparatus or as a tampon.
Abstract:
A myofascial release device includes a rigid inner core having a first density surrounded by an outer layer having a second density. The second density may be less than the first density to promote myofascial release. The rigid inner core may be a hollow aluminum core and end caps may be placed on either end of the myofascial release device. The overall diameter of the myofascial release device may be between 1.5 and 3 inches, and preferably 2 inches. The inner core may be cooled during manufacturing such that, when the inner core returns to room temperature, the diameter of the inner core is greater than or equal to the inner diameter of the outer layer.
Abstract:
The present invention is a mechanical assembly for single point torque adjustment, an apparatus and method of use of an improved belt for body support and for assisting body during musculoskeletal activities like heavy lifting, kneeling, bending and walking. The belt employs the single point torque adjusting mechanical assembly with an adjustable hinge along with resilient means which stores potential energy when the user alters from a neutral position and may help the body to return to the neutral position. The belt employs structure to share and direct load from head, neck and back to waist and ground. The apparatus may prevent the user from acquiring spondylitis, kyphosis or osteoporosis. The apparatus may be used for users who are subjected to frequent muscular work like bending up and down while carrying heavy loads, sitting too long, walking and the like.
