Abstract:
A sealable cabinet that permits a human or animal to experience a dry bath for carbon dioxide or other gases, with said cabinet fitted with gas, water, and power connections, and a controller to optimize the temperature, gas concentrations, and water vapor content of the interior, plus a switchable means for selecting between a sauna environment and said carbon dioxide bath, with a business method that enables a provider of services involving such equipment to achieve a profitable interface with patients and customers.
Abstract:
The invention is to provide a gas mist pressure bath system, which is possible to control the amount of gas and liquid, pressure and others, and cause a gas mist to be absorbed through a skin and mucous membrane of a human living-body under an optimum condition, in which a mist is prepared by pulverizing and dissolving carbon dioxide or oxygen or a mixed gas of carbon dioxide and oxygen and a liquid at a density of not less than a predetermined value, and the thus prepared gas mist is directly contacted to the skin and mucous membrane of the living-body, the gas mist pressure bath system comprises a gas supply means 11, a liquid supply means 21, a gas mist supply means 31 for generating and supplying the gas mist prepared by blowing off gas supplied from the gas supply means into the liquid supplied from the liquid supply means 21, and the living body cover member 41 of covering the skin and mucous membrane of the living-body and forming a space of sealing the gas mist inside thereof, and the gas mist pressure bath system causes the gas mist within the living body cover member 41 to contact the skin and mucous membrane of the living-body at pressure of not less than a predetermined value.
Abstract:
A walking assist device has rotational actuators that generate drive forces from electric energy supplied from batteries provided in right and left leg links. If there is a difference in the SOCs of the batteries of the two leg links, then a controller controls the rotational actuators such that the drive force of the rotational actuator corresponding to a battery having a lower SOC is smaller than the drive forces of the rotational actuators in the case where the SOCs of the two batteries are the same, while the drive of the rotational actuator corresponding to a battery having a higher SOC is larger than the drive forces of the rotational actuators in the case where the SOCs of the two batteries are the same.
Abstract:
A spa system featuring an immersion tank for holding a therapeutic liquid, the immersion tank may feature multiple sectors, a hot reservoir, a cold reservoir, and a mixer reservoir. The mixer reservoir is fluidly connected to each the hot reservoir, the cold reservoir, and the immersion tank via pipes. The hot reservoir has a heating element, and the cold reservoir has a cooling element. Pipes and pumps connect the immersion tank to the mixer reservoir and to the hot and cold reservoirs and the hot and cold reservoirs to the mixer reservoir. Temperature sensors are disposed in the immersion tank and the mixer reservoir. A control unit having a microprocessor functions to change temperature of the therapeutic liquid in the immersion tank by activating various pumps such that the temperature of the immersion tank matches a pre-programmed temperature.
Abstract:
Therapy system for treatment of an animate body including core body cooling. The system includes a therapy wrap and a first therapy device for exchanging heat with the body. The system may include a second therapy device for delivering another therapy. The first therapy device may include a heat transfer device, a cooling or heating source, and a control unit. The heat transfer device may include a fluid bladder and a compressive bladder. The second therapy device may be an electric stimulation device. The therapy wrap is adapted to coordinate delivery of the thermal therapy and another therapy to the animate body. The therapy wrap may also be a sleeve for mounting components of the first and second therapy devices. Also disclosed are a method of administering a temperature-controlled treatment to an anatomical body part and method of making the therapy system.
Abstract:
A spa control system designed to reduce maintenance cost by providing modular construction for major control functions, with built-in diagnostic capabilities for isolating defective spa components. Multi-colored LEDs on the spaside panel constantly report the status of each component of the spa as well as the status of the functional modules themselves. Each time a component is activated, measurements of operational parameters, such as load currents, are instantly made and evaluated so that the proper LED color can be presented at the spaside. Since major functions such as audio, LED control, wireless, and spa logic are separated into removable modules, repair of the control system requires less time and less skilled personnel. Other design improvements, such as direct monitoring of heater element temperature and the purging of pumps on an as required-basis, enhance the spa's overall reliability and thus reduce the need for maintenance.
Abstract:
A therapeutic apparatus for providing therapeutic benefits to an immersed body part due to contact with a heated or unheated homogenous medium. The therapeutic apparatus includes at least two vibration generators for generating two waveforms at two distinct areas of the vibratory vessel, where the two waveforms are converging on each other and combined together to create a constructive and destructive pulse waveform having a larger constructive amplitude than the amplitude of the original wave and a smaller destructive amplitude than the amplitude of the original wave for providing a constructive and destructive pulse wave massaging effect to the body part of the user immersed within the homogenous medium contained within the vibratory vessel.
