Abstract:
An ozone purification system for wastewater comprising an ozone diffusion reactor installable in or in fluid communication with wastewater collection tanks of septic or other wastewater systems. The reactor includes a pump that circulates wastewater through a gas-liquid mixing device, a contact volume, and a static mixer. The contact volume comprises an elongate length of contact piping and the static mixing chamber is configured to impart turbulence into the flow of the circulated wastewater and ozone gas.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of sanitizing drinking water to be dispensed from a water dispenser having a reservoir includes the steps of providing the ozone gas generator that generates an ozone gas stream, transmitting the ozone gas stream from the generator to the water dispenser reservoir, mechanically breaking up the ozone gas stream inside the reservoir to produce ozone gas bubbles, and using the ozone gas bubbles to disinfect water in the reservoir. The ozone gas stream can be mechanically broken up using a pump such as, for example, an impeller type pump.
Abstract:
A system and method for processing impure water is achieved by using ozone for the separation and removal of certain contaminants and for further purification of the water. According to one embodiment, a gas comprised of ozone and air is injected into the impure water. The gas is converted to bubbles which are used as a flotation reagent while the ozone portion of the gas provides for the disinfection and deodorization of the liquid. The impure water is constantly supplied into an upper portion of a working volume or column of fluid contained within a processing unit. At the same time the gas is supplied into the bottom part of the same fluid column through one or more diffusers. Due to their porosity the diffusers generate the bubbles of this ozone-based gas so that each bubble has a predetermined size.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides an ozone contact tank, which includes a water inlet gallery (1), an aeration gallery (2), a water distribution zone (3), a reaction zone (4) and a water outlet trough (5) which are disposed according to the intake order and are communicated in sequence; the top of the water inlet gallery (1) is communicated with the top of the aeration gallery (2); the bottom of the aeration gallery (2) is communicated with a water inlet end of the water distribution zone (3) via a narrow passage (6); the top of the water distribution zone (3) is communicated with the bottom of the reaction zone (4) via a perforated plate (41); the top of the reaction zone (4) is communicated with the water outlet trough (5). The disclosure also provides an ozone contact method using the ozone contact tank, which can greatly improve the disinfection effect.
Abstract:
This ozone appliance for the professional dental office and other medical applications introduces dissolved ozone into dental and surgical operatory water lines. This dissolved ozone can not only disinfect water and water lines; it can also reduce gum bleeding, gingivitis, bad breath, teeth stains and oral bacteria. Additionally, it can aid in wound disinfection in surgery and attack microbial contamination of water from dental and surgical operatory water lines and attached hand pieces and dispensing devices by automatically killing waterborne germs and destroying biofilms where germs can hide and grow. It can, therefore, be used to disinfect water lines in dental operations and for other medical applications such as providing liquid containing ozone for cleaning and disinfecting skin prior to surgery (and tissue exposed during surgery). Further, a unit connected to operatory water lines can give an audible or other alarm if the water becomes unsafe.

Abstract:
Electrochemical apparatus and methods that support periodic, non-steady state, or discontinuous operation without suffering degradation of materials or loss of efficiency. The invention provides a means for positioning one or more electrodes into contact with electrolyte and means for retracting the one or more electrodes out of contact with the electrolyte. The means for positioning and means for retracting may be the same device or different devices. The means for positioning and means for retracting may be designed to provide automatic, passive, or fail-safe retraction of the electrode upon a given shutdown condition, such as a voltage of less than one Volt being applied between the first and second electrodes, expiration of a time period, an ozone concentration greater than a setpoint ozone concentration, contact pressure of less than 5 psig, and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
An apparatus for treating water with ozone includes a first conduit and a passageway for admitting ozone into the first conduit. There is a second conduit having a top, an inlet connected to the first conduit and an outlet. There is a third conduit having a top and a vertical portion extending downwardly adjacent to the outlet of the second conduit. The third conduit has a bottom with an outlet below the outlet of the second conduit. The outlet of the second conduit is no more than one-third the distance from the top of the third conduit to the outlet of the third conduit. There is a passageway connecting the third conduit to the first conduit above the outlet of the second conduit. The passageway is sized to permit a reduced flow of water through the third conduit compared to the flow through the second conduit and provides means for gas discharged from the outlet of the second conduit to rise through the vertical portion of the third conduit to increase dissolving of the gas in the water. There is a pump for pumping water with sufficient force from the outlet of the second conduit such that a stream of water and undissolved gas therefrom reaches a point at least one-half the distance from the outlet of the second conduit to the outlet of the third conduit.
Abstract:
Highly oxidative water containing ozone and/or OH radicals dissolved in a large amount is prepared by dissolving an oxygen rich gas at high pressure in water and then the pressure is lowered to form fine bubbles in water from the dissolved oxygen rich gas and the fine bubbles are exposed to pulse discharge. Method of and apparatus capable of forming highly oxidative water containing ozone or OH radicals at high concentration exhibiting an oxidizing performance at a level sufficient to practical use with excellent power efficiency and productivity by discharge in water.
