Abstract:
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for reducing deposit formation in engines combusting a fuel containing ethanol and a corrosion inhibitor. In particular, E85 fuels with a corrosion inhibitor are provided containing polyetheramine additives able to reduce, eliminate and/or prevent deposits on engine combustion surfaces and surfaces of engine components exposed to the fuel containing ethanol and a corrosion inhibitor
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention provides terpolymers of ethylene, at least one ethylenically unsaturated ester and propene, which a) contain from 12.0 to 16.0 mol % of structural units derived from at least one ethylenically unsaturated ester, b) contain from 1.0 to 4.0 methyl groups derived from propene per 100 aliphatic carbon atoms, and c) have fewer than 6.5 methyl groups stemming from chain ends per 100 CH2 groups. and also their use as cold additives for middle distillates.
Abstract:
A fuel for use in a jet engine may be prepared by admixing a hydrocarbon fuel and a first additive selected from the group consisting of ethoxylated alkylphenol formaldehyde resins, maleic anhydride alpha olefin copolymers and mixtures thereof and a second additive comprising an admixture of platinum group and cerium compounds. The jet fuels including the additives may be used in jet engines where it is desirable to have reduced concentrations of particulates in exhausts, particularly when the jet engines are running at cruise speed.
Abstract:
Described herein are enhanced performance of antistatic additive compositions for hydrocarbon fuels, the compositions comprising olefin-sulfur dioxide copolymers in combination with polymeric polyamines prepared using an ortho-xylene solvent.
Abstract:
An adjustable fuel power booster component composition having three components: (A) an ignition accelerator which is preferably normal propyl nitrate and/or diterbutyl peroxide; (B) propylene glycol monoalkyl ether and/or butylene glycol monoalkyl ether; and (C) methyl carbonate and/or ethyl carbonate and/or propyl carbonate and/or butyl carbonate, which may be used mixed in any proportion with methylal (dimethoxymethane) or ethylal (diethoxymethane). The adjustable fuel power booster component composition of the present invention can be used by itself or in mixture with gasoline, diesel or burning oils in combustion engines without the need for modification thereof. The adjustable fuel power booster component composition enables low energy content alcohol based fuels to substitute conventional fuels, such as gasoline or diesel, in conventional non-modified internal combustion engines, thereby generating lower amounts of toxic gas emission all the while proving more power.
Abstract:
New, highly effective Mannich detergents for use in hydrocarbon fuels are described which reduce engine deposits in spark and compression ignition internal combustion engines. They are Mannich condensation reaction products obtained from reacting: (i) a polyamine having a sterically-hindered primary amino group, (ii) a hydrocarbyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound, and (iii) an aldehyde. These Mannich detergent compounds may be dispersed in a liquid carrier to provide a fuel additive concentrate for hydrocarbon engine fuels which effectively control engine deposit formation in intake valves and also other engine regions such as port fuel injectors and combustion chambers.
Abstract:
A gasoline additive concentrate composition comprises a solvent, an alkoxylated fatty amine, and a partial ester having at least one free hydroxyl group and formed by reacting at least one fatty carboxylic acid and at least one polyhydric alcohol. A fuel composition comprises gasoline and the gasoline additive concentrate composition. A method of operating a gasoline internal combustion engine comprises fueling the engine with the fuel composition and is effective in reducing fuel consumption.
