Abstract: An electro-optical device comprises an element substrate, a counter substrate, and an inorganic film. The counter substrate is arranged so as to face the element substrate. Abstract: A gas-barrier laminate (10) of a structure in which a first inorganic barrier layer (3), a water-trapping layer (5) and a second inorganic barrier layer (9) are provided in this order on a plastic base material (1), wherein the water-trapping layer (5) is a layer in which a granular moisture-absorbing agent is dispersed in a matrix of an ionic polymer, the granular moisture-absorbing agent being capable of absorbing moisture to a degree lower than that attained by the matrix, and an organic layer (7) is provided between the water-trapping layer (5) and the second inorganic barrier layer (9), the organic layer (7) serving as an underlying layer for forming the second inorganic barrier layer. The water-trapping layer has excellent barrier property against water and is, at the same time, effectively suppressed from swelling despite it has absorbed moisture. The water-trapping layer is, further, effectively suppressed from losing its activity.

Abstract: A display panel and a display panel fabrication method are provided. The display panel comprises a display region; and a peripheral circuit region surrounding the display region. The display panel has a display surface facing viewers and covering the display region and the peripheral circuit region. At least one corner of the display panel is provided with a chamfer having a chamfer surface, the chamfer surface is a new side surface which is going to be introduced to the display panel after the chamfer is formed. A chamfer cutting reflective layer is disposed on the display surface of the display panel and along an edge of the chamfer surface. In a direction perpendicular to a chamfer cutting line and towards the at least one corner of the display panel, a thickness of the chamfer cutting reflective layer is reduced.

Abstract: A film-forming method for forming a film in a film-forming apparatus includes generating first gas molecular species and second gas molecular species by causing the first source gas and the second source gas accumulated in the accumulation mechanisms to pass through respective instantaneously-heating units, sharply raising partial pressure of the first gas molecular species and partial pressure of the second gas molecular species by projectingly supplying the first gas molecular species and the second gas molecular species to the reaction chamber in which the substrate has been placed, which has been depressurized, and which has a constant capacity; bringing the first gas molecular species or the second gas molecular species into reaction by alternately repeatedly guiding the first gas molecular species or the second gas molecular species to a surface of the substrate, and forming a compound film on the surface of the substrate.
