Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a system for remote controlling equipment, which allows at least one server and at least one remote piece of equipment to be interconnected according to the MQIsdp protocol. Said system associates radiocommunication means with at least one of said remote pieces of equipment in order to internally process a communication protocol that uses API-type source functions which are available on a software platform (open AT) allowing at least one application to be hosted. Said radiocommunication means are provided with a set of specific (API) functions in order to exchange data with at least one server that uses said MQIsdp protocol such that said server/s and said remote piece/s of equipment can be interconnected via said radiocommunication means which also manage at least one application located between the server/s and the remote piece/s of equipment.
Abstract:
A thermostat control system for monitoring and controlling environmental characteristics of a building includes a base station unit and a remote access unit continuously interfacing through instant wireless private direct connectivity. The system also includes a plurality of sensors that measure the environmental characteristics and provide the thermostat unit with the measurements.
Abstract:
A method and system of selectively communicating with one or more devices within pre-defined geographical zones is disclosed. A plurality of geographical zones is defined, each zone being defined by latitude and longitude attributes. A plurality of devices is associated with each geographical zone with which a portable device can communicate, the portable device having data representative of the plurality of geographical zones. The portable device also has a ground positioning unit receiver to obtain geographical coordinates of the portable device. If the portable device determines that its location is within one of the plurality of geographical zones, the portable device communicates with the devices in associated with the geographical zone.
Abstract:
A method and a system for controlling a wireless sensor network from a user interface coupled to the Internet are provided. A user accesses an Internet-based portal from the user interface and establishes a secure broadband Internet connection between a remote control module coupled to the wireless sensor network and the portal. The connection is established by manually triggering a connection between the remote control module and the portal from the remote control module.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for accessing a quiescent mobile vehicle using a wireless communication system. A vehicle communication device is placed into a discontinuous-receive mode. The vehicle communication device is periodically awakened to a service-ready mode based on the discontinuous-receive mode. A determination is made whether a short message service communication is waiting to be delivered during the service-ready mode. A short message service communication is received in response to the short message service communication determination, and an operation is performed based on the received short message service communication.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal is suitable for use with a control terminal in a wireless communications network. The control terminal is configured with switching control identification data that are associated with predetermined ring tones parameters such that the control terminal is capable of outputting a control signal based on the number or duration of ring tones received thereby from an authorized caller. Upon receipt of control code data via a user input unit, a processor unit of the mobile terminal enables establishing of a communications link with the control terminal with reference to a call data code portion of the control code data, and terminates automatically the communications link after a duration corresponding to a termination control code portion of the control code data.
Abstract:
Connection is established from a communication device having a plurality of platforms, such as a push-button-type telephone 13, a personal computer 14 and a cellular phone 15, to a base station 12 through a public line network 22 and the Internet 20, and an operation guidance is given by means of a voice guidance or a Web page from base station 12, so that the base station 12 remote-controls an electric apparatus 11 in accordance with the user's operation on the communication devices 13 to 15. The guide program, voice guidance and Web pages in the base station 12 are made to be updateable in storing operations 24a, 27a, 27b, 27c in the base station 12, so that it is possible to easily add a function thereto and also change the functions. It becomes possible to correspond to various platforms, easily add various functions, and also to easily update the operation menu.
Abstract:
A remotely managed electronically operated dispensing apparatus having a transmitter for transmitting a detection signal and a communication signal is disclosed. When the detection signal is reflected from an object, the dispensing apparatus opens a valve allowing fluid to flow. The communication signal may contain maintenance, status and other information and is received by a communication device.
Abstract:
A system for targeted messaging includes a messaging platform for communicating messages to a target group, a target group selecting module for selecting the target group from a group of potential message recipients based upon a target criterion including the location of each potential message recipient relative to a predefined targeted region. A method of targeted messaging includes defining a targeted region, selecting a target group from a group of potential message recipients based upon the location of each potential message recipient relative to the targeted region, and transmitting a message to the selected target group.
