Abstract:
In a computer network consisting of at least one host computer and computer peripheral devices, such as scanners, fax machines, and printers, a user may use a hot key on the scanner to copy, scan, e-mail, and faxing etc. via the control of an application program. An auto-crop module implemented in the host computer can automatically crop the image of a scanned sheet. The cropped image is saved in the memory device. Before sending the cropped image to the computer peripheral devices, the computing module will compute the output format of the cropped image according to the resolution requirement and scaling factor of the associated computer peripheral device. The retained position will be also saved in the memory. In response to the user operation, the image of the scanned sheet with its retained position will be transmitted to the printer or facsimile machine via the control of the application program.
Abstract:
An image communication apparatus includes a transmitter that transmits an e-mail with data attached, via a computer network, a receiver that receives an e-mail with data attached, via the computer network, and a controller that converts the attached data into image data. The controller judges whether or not the received e-mail is an error mail, the error mail being related to the e-mail transmitted by the image communication apparatus, based on a search of a header of the received e-mail for a predetermined character string. The predetermined character string is related to a sender of the error mail. The controller determines that the received e-mail in the error mail, when the result of the search indicates that the header of the received e-mail includes the predetermined character string.
Abstract:
There is provided a print system for transmitting and receiving a data object by a PTP between a camera-equipped mobile phone (CP) and a PD printer and printing an image by the PD printer according to image data supplied from the CP. First information indicating presence/absence of the direct print function capable of printing by transmitting image data from the CP directly to the PD printer and second information indicating presence/absence of the cooperated processing function with the CP and the PD printer are embedded in a data object which is transmitted and received. When it is judged that the received object contains the first and the second information, the CP and the printer are set to the direct print function and the cooperated processing function mode.
Abstract:
When a digital camera 100 is connected to an information processing apparatus 101 so that they can communicate with each other, the digital camera 100 generates partial information of attribute information related to each image data stored in the camera 100, and transmits the partial information of the attribute information to the information processing apparatus 101.
Abstract:
There is provided an imaging device including a first processor having a list creating unit for, when a group is specified and a creation process of a data list is requested for data divided to one or a plurality of groups, creating a data list related to data of the specified group, and a list transmission unit for transmitting a data list created by the list creating unit through a first line when a transmission request of the data list based on the PTP is acquired through the first line; and a second processor having a list creation requesting unit for specifying the group and requesting for the creation process of the data list with respect to the first processor through a second line different from the first line, and a list transmission requesting unit for transmitting the transmission request of the data list to the first processor.
Abstract:
There has been a problem of necessitating a complicated work for establishing a connection capable of intercommunication between a computer as server and a projector as client. When a connection is established between a server 20 and projectors 301 through 30n, a communication command is issued according to UDP-based broadcasting to retrieve connectable projectors 301 through 303. Thereafter, the projector 301 to be connected is selected and is assigned an IP address to establish the connection. In this manner, a user can easily obtain a connection environment capable of intercommunication between the server 20 and the projector 301. A TCP/IP communication command is used to input or output image data, ensuring reliable transmission. Since the authentication can be provided using a keyword projected during the connection establishment, it is possible to prevent an unauthorized access to the projector 301 by an outsider.
Abstract:
An image reader and an external terminal are connected to each other through a network. The image reader includes a reading unit, a reception section, a data conversion section, a transmission data generation section and a transmission section. The reading unit reads an image. The reception section receives terminal information from the external terminal. The data conversion section converts image data read by the reading unit into a predetermined data format based on the terminal information. The transmission data generation section adds additional information, which relates to processing of the converted image data, to the converted image data to generate transmission data. The transmission section transmits the transmission data to the external terminal.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a multimedia system using a mobile communication terminal and an external connection device for the same. The multimedia system uses a video/audio output device, a peripheral device, and an external connection device. The multimedia system includes a mobile communication terminal having a video/audio output function and a peripheral device control function so that the mobile communication terminal outputs images and sounds by using the video/audio output device and controls the peripheral device; and an external connection device for connecting the mobile communication terminal to the video/audio output device and the peripheral device, relaying the images and sounds from the mobile communication terminal to the video/audio output device, and relaying data transmitted/received between the mobile communication terminal and the peripheral device. When multimedia data is reproduced by using a mobile communication terminal, it is easily connected to an external video/audio output device (e.g. a TV) or a peripheral device (e.g. a computer, a mouse, a joystick) to construct a multimedia system.
Abstract:
Personal computers and a printer are linked via an image processing apparatus. A first memory stores data received from computers. A second memory stores data received from an original. An output interface receives the data from the transfer data buffer and the image buffer and outputs the data to the printer. A printer status detector obtains the status of the printer to determine whether the printer is unable to print. A cancel commanding section commands the printer to clear the data received from the output interface when the printer is unable to print. A data identifier identifies whether the data output through the output interface is the data from the image buffer. When the data identifier identifies that the data outputted from the output interface is data from the image buffer, the cancel commanding section commands the printer to clear the data received from the output interface.
