Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus includes a user interface operative to facilitate communications between the apparatus and at least one user application in operative communication with the apparatus, and a network interface operative to facilitate communications between the apparatus and at least one of a plurality of communications networks coupled to the apparatus. The apparatus further includes a controller connected to the user interface and network interface. The controller is operative in a first mode to communicate with a first one of the communications networks using a first protocol and is operative in at least a second mode to communicate with a second one of the communications networks using a second protocol.
Abstract:
A system and method for enabling routing of data on a network based on a portion of data accessed from a non-network enabled device is disclosed. The technology includes a method for enabling routing of data on a network based on a portion of data accessed from a non-network enabled device. The method includes detecting a non-network enabled device locally coupled to a first computer system, the first computer system coupled to the network. The method further includes enabling routing of data through the non-network enabled device to a second computer system coupled to the network by using the first computer system as a communication interface between the non-network enabled device and the second computer system wherein the second computer system is automatically identified based on recognizing a portion of the data as a routing destination.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes: a reading unit; a transmission unit and a limiting unit. The reading unit is configured to read a document and create image data. The transmission unit supports a plurality of transmission modes, and is configured to transmit the image data to an external apparatus using at least one selected from the plurality of transmission modes. The limiting unit is configured to limit selectable transmission modes of the transmission unit based on at least one of: a user-designated attribute of the document set by a user; a reading attribute of the reading unit; and a content of the document read by the reading unit.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an Internet FAX apparatus which, after receiving an Internet address from a certain destination, can communicate with the same destination in later transmission or during communication by connecting to a LAN and switching to an Internet FAX mode requiring no communication charge. An Internet facsimile apparatus on the receiving side transmits its Internet facsimile function and Internet address on an NSF signal in a standard protocol of G3 facsimile transmission and/or transmits its telephone number, Internet facsimile function, and Internet address on TSI and NSS signals in the standard protocol of G3 facsimile communication. The Internet facsimile apparatus registers an Internet facsimile function and Internet address of a partner apparatus as destination data. The Internet facsimile apparatus communicates with the partner apparatus by using the Internet address in the destination data in later transmission or by disconnecting ordinary facsimile mode communication and switching to the Internet FAX mode.
Abstract:
A system and a method including allowing a transmitting facsimile device and a receiving facsimile device to select a preferable communications network by enabling the receiving facsimile device to advertise both communication network capability data associated with the receiving facsimile device and addressing identifiers associated with the communication network capability data and the receiving facsimile device, enabling the transmitting facsimile device to read the advertised communication network capability data and the advertised addressing identifiers associated with the communication network capability data and the receiving facsimile device, and enabling a selection logic to preferentially select a communication network chosen from the advertised communication network capability data that is also compatible with the transmitting facsimile device's capabilities.
Abstract:
A print system comprises a digital camera and a printer. The digital camera photographs a subject and produces image data. Print data including print-setting data and printing data is produced from the image data and print setting information. The digital camera is provided with a high-speed radio I/F and a low-speed radio I/F. The printer is also provided with a high-speed radio I/F and a low-speed radio I/F. The setting data is transferred from the digital camera to the printer through the low-speed radio I/F. The printing data is transferred from the digital camera to the printer through the high-speed radio I/F. The printer prints an image of the subject on the basis of the print data transferred from the digital camera to the printer.
Abstract:
An [X-mailer:] field analyzing section checks whether or not [X-mailer:] field is included in a header of received mail data. If [X-mailer:] field is included in the header, there is a possibility that received mail data will be error mail. Then, a [From:] field analyzing section extracts [From:] Field from the header. Next, the [From:] field analyzing section compares [From:] field with a character string registered in a character string list table. If both agree, received mail data is determined as error mail. If both disagree, received mail data is not determined as error mail. This makes it possible to recognize error mail more accurately.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus for receiving e-mail data, is connected to a computer network. The Internet facsimile apparatus comprises an e-mail receiver that receives e-mail data transmitted via the computer network. The e-mail data includes a header, document information and image information. Further, the Internet facsimile apparatus comprises a determiner that determines whether or not the document information contains a predetermined data. This predetermined data indicates that the e-mail data is data which was transmitted from an Internet facsimile apparatus. A printer in the Internet facsimile apparatus prints the entire received e-mail data when the determiner determines that the document information does not contain the predetermined data, and prints only the image information when the determiner determines that the document information contains the predetermined data.
Abstract:
An image communication apparatus having an Internet facsimile communication device and a G3 facsimile communication device includes a detector for detecting a facsimile function of a communication partner's apparatus during communication by the G3 facsimile communication device, and a controller for performing control of causing the G3 facsimile communication device to disconnect communication in a G3 facsimile mode and shifting to communication by the Internet facsimile communication device, based on the detection of the facsimile function of the communication partner's apparatus by the detector.
Abstract:
When an IFAX processing section transmits image information using e-mail, a timer monitoring section starts the count of a timer. After starting the count, a received mail determining section determines whether or not a timeout occurs. Also, the received mail determining section determined whether an error mail of a current job or a DSN of the current job is received. In the case of the timeout, when the notification content of the error mail or the DSN is an abnormal end, a transmission selecting section instructs a FAX control section to transmit an image information file of the current job to a telephone number. Thereafter, the transmission selecting section instructs an image information managing section to erase an image information file corresponding to a file name of the current job. This makes it possible to insure a real-time property as making use of advantages of e-mail.
