Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include methods for adjusting sensitivity of a photodiode in a light detection system. Methods according to certain embodiments include determining a background data signal from a photodetector at a plurality of detector gains, irradiating the photodetector with a light source at a plurality of different light intensities, generating data signals from the photodetector for the plurality of light intensities at each detector gain and adjusting the photodetector to the detector gain that corresponds to the lowest light irradiation intensity that generates a data signal resolvable from the background data signal. Systems (e.g., particle analyzers) having a light source and a light detection system that includes a photodetector for practicing the subject methods are also described. Non-transitory computer readable storage medium are also provided.

Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a self-checking photoelectric sensor that is configured to determine a characteristic (e.g., an amount of blockage and/or wellness/decay) of an optical pathway (e.g., an electro-optical pathway). An example method generally includes increasing, over a time period that starts at a first time, a current input to a light emitting element (LEE). The method generally includes receiving, by a light detection element, an output of the LEE via the optical pathway during the time period. The method generally includes converting, during the time period, the LEE output to a voltage output. The method generally includes determining a second time in the time period when the voltage output crosses a threshold. The method generally includes determining the characteristic of the optical pathway between the LEE and the light detection element based on a difference between the second time and the first time.

Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein includes a method for operating lighting fixtures in horticultural applications. The method may include receiving a user input of a desired irradiance for a first color channel of one or more lighting fixtures that irradiates a plant bed, in which each of the one or more lighting fixtures comprises at least one light emitting diode (LED) array, determining, for each of the one or more lighting fixtures, a PWM setting of the first color channel such that each of the one or more lighting fixtures irradiate the plant bed at the desired irradiance based on calibration data stored in each of the one or more lighting fixtures, and applying, to each of the one or more lighting fixtures, the determined PWM setting of the first color channel.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a non-contact portable tonometry system and tonometry method using a difference in infrared intensity. A nozzle module receives compressed air from a compressed air supply source and sprays the same through an air spray port to a cornea of a subject, thus to cause corneal deformation. An infrared ray sensor is disposed in the nozzle module to emit infrared rays to the cornea and measure an amount of light reflected from the cornea. A controller converts the amount of light measured by the infrared ray sensor before and after the deformation of corneal into intraocular pressure.

Abstract: A portable lamp assembly includes a spine member, a first and second side panel rotatably connected to the spine member, and a pair of first and second tangent links prismatically and rotatably operably coupled to the first and second side panel. Each of the tangent links has a plurality of vertical adjustment positions disposed between an upper and lower portion. The spine member and the first and second side panels have at least one source of light connected thereto. The first side panel and the second side panel can be rotated between an open position to allow the sources of light emit light towards a target area and a closed position for storage of the portable lamp assembly. The portable lamp assembly is free standing in the open position to allow the portable lamp assembly to be used without any external support.

In one aspect, the apparatus includes an optical assembly including a spatially extended light source and one or more optical elements arranged to direct light from the spatially extended light source along an optical path, a moveable frame supporting the optical assembly including one or more adjustable alignment features for guiding positioning of the stray-light testing apparatus relative to an onboard camera on a vehicle, and a shrouding mechanism attached to the frame and positioned on the frame such that, when the stray-light testing apparatus is aligned relative to the onboard camera on the vehicle and the optical path of the optical assembly is within the field of view of the onboard camera, ambient light exposure for the onboard camera is below a threshold.

Abstract: A light detecting device, a lighting module, and a manufacturing method for the same are provided. The lighting module includes a carrier, a light assembly having a first lighting unit and a second lighting unit, a lens assembly having a first lens and a second lens, and a casing surrounding the lens assembly. The first lighting unit emits a first beam having a first wavelength through the first lens to define a first view angle and the second lighting unit emits a second beam having a second wavelength through the second lens to define a second view angle. The first wavelength is smaller than the second wavelength, and the first view angle is greater than the second view angle.
