Abstract: A process includes periodically or continuously introducing an olefin monomer and periodically or continuously introducing a catalyst system or catalyst system components into a reaction mixture within a reaction system, oligomerizing the olefin monomer within the reaction mixture to form an oligomer product, and periodically or continuously discharging a reaction system effluent comprising the oligomer product from the reaction system. The reaction system includes a total reaction mixture volume and a heat exchanged portion of the reaction system comprising a heat exchanged reaction mixture volume and a total heat exchanged surface area providing indirect contact between the reaction mixture and a heat exchange medium. A ratio of the total heat exchanged surface area to the total reaction mixture volume within the reaction system is in a range from 0.75 in−1 to 5 in−1, and an oligomer product discharge rate from the reaction system is between 1.0 (lb)(hr−1)(gal−1) to 6.0 (lb)(hr−1)(gal−1).

Abstract: A system and a method for a constant micro dosing of powder material include a control device, a cylinder with a first opening and a piston movably arranged inside the cylinder and controllable by the control device. The piston is movable in the direction to or away from the first opening along a piston stroke direction. The cylinder stores the powder material between the piston and the first opening. The piston pushes the powder material through the first opening by moving along the piston stroke direction. Further the system and the method include a removing device for removing the powder material which is pushed out of the first opening of the cylinder. The control device controls the piston and the removing device in a synchronized manner such that a predetermined amount of powder material pushed through the first opening is removable by the removing device.

Abstract: A device and a method for accurately discharging a fixed amount of a liquid, the liquid containing solid particles, in a state that the solid particles are dispersed in the liquid material. The device includes a first reservoir, a first air pressure supply pipe, a metering portion having a metering hole, a plunger moving back and forth in the metering hole, a nozzle, a switching valve having a first position and a second position, a plunger driver, and a switching valve driver. The discharge device further includes a second reservoir, a second air pressure supply pipe, a branch portion provided in an upper portion of the metering hole and having a branch flow path, and an opening/closing mechanism that establishes or cuts off communication between the second reservoir and the metering hole. A discharge method is carried out using the discharge device.

Abstract: A compact, easily handled, and highly accurate dispensing cylinder capable of performing a dispensing treatment for both minute and large amounts of liquid using a single mechanism, and a dispensing treatment method using the dispensing cylinder. The dispensing cylinder includes: a cylinder having a cavity therein; a nozzle provided at one end of the cylinder, having a through hole communicating with the cavity and extending in an axial direction of the cavity, and making a dispensing tip attachable to an outside thereof; and a plunger provided so as to be slidable in the cavity in the axial direction. The cavity has a large diameter region having a first inner peripheral surface and a small diameter region provided so as to be closer to a nozzle than the large diameter region and having a second inner peripheral surface. The plunger has a thick shaft portion slidable in the large diameter region and a thin shaft portion protruding from a distal end of the thick shaft portion in the axial direction and slidable in the small diameter region.

Abstract: Carbon particles are disclosed, as well as methods and systems for forming the particles. In one embodiment, the system may include a receiving vessel configured to receive a liquid carbon precursor and at least one orifice at a bottom of the receiving vessel and configured to release droplets of the precursor. A cooling vessel may be positioned below the receiving vessel to receive the droplets and configured to hold a coolant for solidifying the droplets into carbon precursor particles. The method may include introducing a liquid carbon precursor into a tank having a plurality of orifices defined therein such that droplets of the precursor are released from the orifices and solidifying the droplets in a cooling vessel positioned to receive the droplets from the orifices. The method may then include carbonizing the solidified droplets to form carbon particles. The particles may be solid or hollow.
