Abstract:
A padded mailer includes an outer shipping pocket, having a first opening, and an inner shipping pocket, having a second opening. The inner shipping pocket is disposed within the outer shipping pocket at the first opening. The inner shipping pocket includes a plurality of standoffs disposed away from an outer surface of the inner shipping pocket and towards an inner surface of the outer shipping pocket.
Abstract:
A modular dunnage machine assembly consists essentially of discrete modules of grouped dunnage machine components, the dunnage assembly being usable for expanding, stitching and/or compressing and/or pulling, and cutting, sheet stock material into separate strips of dunnage or other cushioning product. The modules can be individually mounted to the assembly and stabilized thereon, before being securely connected to the assembly, for purposes of component part replacement or initially assembly. In some embodiments, the modules consist essentially of a gear and motor module, an expander module, a power supply module, an internal mounting frame module and a cutter module.

Abstract:
A reusable container and reusable container transport system for use thereof. The reusable container may include a container housing (e.g., flexible container or ridged container that is reusable, resealable, and/or the like), a programmable screen (e.g., flexible, electrophoretic, and/or the like), a vacuum housing that may be used to secure the screen and/or the other components (e.g., hold, protect, and/or the like), an energy source (e.g., integral with and/or removeable from the container systems), and/or one or more container systems (e.g., low profile motherboard, or the like). When an entity receives the reusable container, the entity may make a product decision using a user interface, such as a user computer system (e.g. a mobile device). The product decision may include acceptance of a product, return of the product, or sending of an alternate product. Based on the product decision the programmable screen may be updated with alternate transport information.
Abstract:
A mailer machine including a mailer supply station (e.g., a rotary mailer supply station, a linear mailer supply station, a non-linear mailer supply station, or the like) and a handling station operatively coupled to the mailer supply station. The mailer supply station provides, on a selective basis, mailers having different attributes. The mailer supply station of the mailer machine provides for movement of magazines with respect to a robot in the handling station that may have a distal end secured in a stationary and fixed location. As such, different magazines with dissimilar mailers may be moved to a picking location adjacent the robot, as dissimilar mailers are required. Further, the mailers within the magazines may be moved to a pre-determined pick-up location such that the robot is repeatably picking a mailer from the pre-determine pick-up location.
Abstract:
A member for use in undersea applications comprising a plurality of conduits assembled into a bundle; the bundle being wrapped with a pressure-sensitive tape comprising a backing, a layer of corrosion-resistant filaments on one surface of the backing, and pressure-sensitive adhesive layer that coats the filaments and binds them to the backing.
Abstract:
Security tapes are disclosed that include a first substrate having a first major surface covered with a first PSA, a plurality of discrete pieces of second substrate laminated to the first major surface of the first substrate by the first PSA, and a second PSA applied to each of the plurality of discrete pieces of second substrate on a first surface opposite the first substrate. The first substrate is continuous in both the machine and transverse directions. Each discrete piece of second substrate has a length oriented in the transverse direction and may be spaced a distance apart, in the machine direction, from each adjacent piece of second substrate. The first adhesion of the first PSA for each of the discrete pieces of second substrate is less than a second adhesion of the second PSA for a packaging material or packaging carton.
Abstract:
Tape dispensers with an improved wetting system are disclosed. The tape dispensers include a holder for a roll of liquid-activatable tape, a wetting system that has a reservoir of liquid and a roller having an absorbable outer surface to absorb and dispense liquid, and a feeding mechanism that operatively feeds the liquid-activatable tape through the wetting system to wet the adhesive on the liquid-activatable tape. The roller is at least partially immersed in the reservoir of liquid and the wetting system includes a roller adjustment mechanism to simultaneously adjust an upward force applied by the roller to the liquid activated tape and an immersion depth of the roller into the reservoir of liquid. The wetting system may also include a pressure mechanism to adjust a downward force applied to the liquid activated tape as it passes over the roller.
Abstract:
Water activated tapes, in particular film laminated, water activated paper tapes and methods of making the same are disclosed. The film laminated, water activated paper tapes include a paper backing having a top surface and a bottom surface, a water activated adhesive applied to the bottom surface of the paper backing, and a film reinforcement structure applied to the top surface of the paper backing The film reinforcement structure includes an outermost oriented film, and a lamination layer. The lamination layer may include one or more of an enhanced polyethylene resin, a polyolefin plastomer, a very low density polyethylene, a nylon, a polyester, and a co-polyester laminating the outermost polyolefin film to the paper backing The laminating of the film reinforcement structure to the paper backing is an extrusion lamination process that includes coextruding the outermost polyolefin film and the lamination layer onto the paper backing
