Abstract:
Clock timing skew may occur during operation of a time-interleaved receiver. It would be beneficial to try to determine if there is timing skew, and if there is, then address it, such as by reducing or eliminating some or all of the timing skew. Embodiments are described herein that may achieve this. In one embodiment, a method includes generating at least two clocks having the same frequency but a different phase. Intersymbol interference (ISI) values are then determined, one for each of the clocks, by: for each clock, sampling a signal using the clock and determining a value representing ISI based on the sampled signal. A clock phase of at least one of the clocks is adjusted in response to at least one of the ISI values being different from a reference ISI value.
Abstract:
An operating assemblage to harvest agricultural crops at a peak of ripeness comprising a mobility component configured to navigate through an agricultural field; at least one vacuum motor calibrated to generate necessary and sufficient suction to successfully harvest a harvestable ripe unit of a crop such as a fruit, berry, nut, or vegetable using a collection hose ending in a collection nozzle of a size appropriate to the crop; the collection nozzle housing an array of sensors; and a collection and storage receptacle for harvested produce. The assemblage is configured by an operator inputting parameters to calibrate the array of sensors to trigger the vacuum motor to apply sufficient suction to harvest agricultural produce at a specified degree of ripeness. Components of the operating assemblage are connected to a power source responsive to real time communication via an electronic device equipped with at least one Wi-Fi chip set or Bluetooth capability.
Abstract:
A method and system to use a block chain infrastructure and smart contracts to monetize data transactions involving changes to data included into a data supply chain. The invention describes a system and method to use smart contracts to monetize changes to data using a block chain infrastructure. The system and method matches a data producer's data with a data buyer's specifications, and enables micropayments for changed data responsive to observation of changes to data included into a data supply chain on a granular level. The implementation of block chain infrastructure for data transfer enables a new class of business methods that enables the maintenance of privacy of personal information while giving access to actionable data and implementing a fair and transparent market for data producers and data buyers to use redundant distributed ledgers of transactions on peer to peer networks.
Abstract:
Embodiments that relate to converting audio inputs from an environment into text are disclosed. For example, in one disclosed embodiment a speech conversion program receives audio inputs from a microphone array of a head-mounted display device. Image data is captured from the environment, and one or more possible faces are detected from image data. Eye-tracking data is used to determine a target face on which a user is focused. A beamforming technique is applied to at least a portion of the audio inputs to identify target audio inputs that are associated with the target face. The target audio inputs are converted into text that is displayed via a transparent display of the head-mounted display device.
Abstract:
A system to use strings of computer readable characters, such as QR codes, biometric data captured from electronic devices, and RFID tags to instruct a server or electronic device to register a user upon receipt of the strings of computer readable characters.
Abstract:
Embodiments that relate to providing motion amplification to a virtual environment are disclosed. For example, in one disclosed embodiment a mixed reality augmentation program receives from a head-mounted display device motion data that corresponds to motion of a user in a physical environment. The program presents via the display device the virtual environment in motion in a principal direction, with the principal direction motion being amplified by a first multiplier as compared to the motion of the user in a corresponding principal direction. The program also presents the virtual environment in motion in a secondary direction, where the secondary direction motion is amplified by a second multiplier as compared to the motion of the user in a corresponding secondary direction, and the second multiplier is less than the first multiplier.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method and system to enable buyers and sellers of data items to adjust fees for one or a plurality of data items according to the compatibility of the data items with research and dataset compatibility requirements of the end user or buyer of the data items. It further provides a method for constructing data item pairs consisting of targets for observations and observations upon targets compatible with the requirement of the purchaser of the data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing a visualization of power for display. The method establishes a power visualization scale based on a color saturation and intensity range for a hue and a range of power to be visualized, and generates a display image for at least one measured value of power as a level of color saturation and intensity for the hue based on the power visualization scale.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method and system to enable buyers and sellers of data items associated with data streams housed on electronically readable data tags or data streams contained within digitally transmissible messages or data streams generated by devices capable of implementing computer readable code to set, manage, and collect fees for the one or a plurality of data items and for the processing, collection, and posting of the one or a plurality of data items. It further provides a method for collection of fees and posting data from data streams to datasets through electronic devices capable of implementing computer readable code. It further provides a method for electronic devices capable of implementing computer readable code to write data into electronic messages or onto electronically readable data tags or to other electronic devices capable of running computer readable code.
