    Abstract: The intervertebral implant is in the form of a three-dimensional structure (10) comprising (a) a top side (1) and an underside (2) which are designed to rest against the end plates of two adjacent vertebras, (b) a left side face (3) and a right side face (4), (c) a front face (5) and a rear face (6), (d) a horizontal center plane situated between the top side (1) and the underside (2), (e) a vertical center plane (8) situated between the left side face (3) and the right side face (8) and (f) a plurality of boreholes (9) passing through the implant structure (10) that are designed to receive longitudinal affixation elements (20), the axes (19) of said elements intersecting the horizontal center plane (7). At least one of the boreholes (9) is designed in a manner that the affixation element (10) received in it can be rigidly connected to the intervertebral implant. Said connection is implemented using a thread or by matching conical surfaces.

    Abstract: An intervertebral implant including: a central axis, upper and lower terminal parts and a convex joint element. Each of the terminal parts come to rest against the end surfaces of two adjacent vertebras and opposite first and second concave inner surfaces, respectively. The convex joint element is situated between the terminal parts and rests in a sliding manner against the first and second concave inner surfaces of the two terminal parts. The, first concave surface is a partial surface of a first rotationally symmetrical external surface about the axis of rotation transverse to the central axis. The second concave inner surface of a second rotationally symmetrical conical external surface about the axis of rotation transverse to the central axis.

    Abstract: A prosthesis for use in maintaining an interspinal space is disclosed. The prosthesis may be provided as first and second substantially symmetrical halves. The first and second halves may each have a coupling portion and a process portion. The coupling portions allow the separate halves to be separately fit within the interspinal space and then connected to form a single prosthesis, eliminating the need for cutting connecting ligaments to allow insertion of the prosthesis. Various connection and locking arrangements are disclosed to maintain the halves engaged with each other and the interspinal space.

    Abstract: A device for osteosynthesis that includes a fixation element having at least one through hole designed to receive a pivotable bushing for a bone screw. The through hole has a central axis and a cross-section extending orthogonally to the central axis defined by two incomplete semicircles connected to each other by at least two non-circular cut outs forming grooves in the fixation element. The device also includes at least one bushing insertable in the through hole.     Abstract: A device of performing osteosynthesis includes an osteosynthesis element, e.g., a bone plate, having an upper face, a lower face and an opening with a central axis linking the upper and lower faces. The opening receives a multi-axial pivotable insert for a longitudinal bone fixing element, such as a bone screw. The insert has a central passage with a longitudinal axis for housing the bone fixing element. The insert may be configured as a helical spring with an external sheath surface and an internal sheath surface that defines the central passage. When placed in the through hole, the insert is rotationally fixed relative to its longitudinal axis, but remains pivotally adjustable within the through hole relative to the osteosynthesis element.
