Abstract:
A backup battery system has an add-on battery module intended for semi-permanent to permanent pairing with an existing lead-acid vehicle battery. The system provides a backup to the battery if the battery becomes depleted or unserviceable due to age, damage, or sub-freezing temperatures. The system is installed alongside the existing vehicle battery and has no impact on operations unless it automatically detects that the battery has become depleted and is in need of an assist, in which case the system will “wake up” and jump start the vehicle. The system is charged by the vehicle electrical system in parallel with the vehicle battery as needed, but only when the vehicle is running.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and devices are provided for remotely transmitting a control command to a device having a light sensor for receiving the control command in the form of a light energy signal. A radio frequency remote control signal is produced within an enclosure of a remote control unit (such as a hand-held remote control unit) and is radiated therefrom to a radio frequency receiver. The receiver converts the received signal to a light energy signal which it applies to the light sensor of the device to provide the command thereto.
Abstract:
The present invention describes peptides comprising phycocyanobilin (PCB), as well as the medical use of said peptides and that of PCB, due to the neuroprotector and/or neuroregenerative effects identified for them. Furthermore, pharmaceutical combinations of said peptides and of PCB with proteins or other peptides with synergic effect justify their use for ischemic or neurodegenerative CNS disease treatment.
Abstract:
A battery jump starting connection detection system and method assists in making the best connection to the vehicle battery by detecting the connection resistance to the battery. The connection resistance measurement is taken with the jump start battery isolated from the battery and involves placing a load of known resistance on the battery via the clamps and cabling, and measuring the voltage differential in loaded and unloaded states. The connection resistance is calculated in a main controller, given the loaded and unloaded voltages. As the user adjusts the jump start clamps on the battery terminals in order to get the best possible contact, the system measures the resistance and the results are presented on a display in a meaningful, easy-to-read format such as an LCD display. The user can thus optimize the connection while seeing the results of the optimization in real time.

Provided herewith, among other things, is an assembly comprising a test tube with an affixed very small, light-triggered transponder (“MTP”).
Abstract:
The present invention is a trailer hitch protector. The trailer hitch protector comprises a supporting bar adapted to be mounted to a rear of a vehicle. The trailer hitch protector further comprises a protective structure supported from the supporting bar and extending rearwardly from the supporting bar. The trailer hitch protector further a ball hinge cover made of compressible material and fixed to the protective structure, the ball hinge cover adapted to accommodate a ball element of a trailer hitch of the vehicle.
