Abstract:
Attachment of a USB memory is sensed and whether the USB memory can be recognized or not is determined based on data information output from the USB memory. When the USB memory cannot be recognized, an emulation transition screen is displayed. Thereafter, when an instruction to start transition to an emulation mode is given, an emulation mode transition instruction signal and an IP address of an MFP on a network are output. Receiving the input of the emulation mode transition instruction signal, an emulation mode start-up/end unit starts up the emulation mode.
Abstract:
A charging management server is informed of an ID number stored in an IC card, and a user charging table of the charging management server is read. A new user charging list is transmitted to an MFP. In the case where the MFP receives a cooperative job to be executed by a cooperative server, a sub charging list is generated. The generated new sub charging list is transmitted together with image data to the cooperative server. The cooperative server executes the job on the basis of charging a fee for the job. As the job is executed on the basis of charging, the sub charging list is updated. In parallel with the execution of the cooperative job by the cooperative server, the MFP can perform a normal job according to the charging list.
Abstract:
Whether a job execution instruction has been issued or not is determined. When it is determined that the job execution instruction has been issued, a job ID is issued. Contents of the job in accordance with the job execution instruction are checked. Then, whether the job is a Scan to USB memory job in an emulation mode or not is determined. When it is determined that the job is the Scan to USB memory job in the emulation mode, a sub job ID brought in correspondence with the issued job ID is issued.
Abstract:
An authentication printing function is performed in a multi function peripheral (MFP). A user transmits a job from a PC to the MFP, and then performs card authentication by bringing cards close to an authentication device. Authenticated-user information is transmitted to the MFP, where the authenticated users are registered. A print job is generated, and a billing scenario is generated in which a charge is allocated among the plurality of authenticated users on the basis of a billing pattern. When the billing scenario is approved by the user, the job is executed, and the authenticated users are each billed for the charge allocated thereto on a per-page or per-set basis, in accordance with the billing scenario. Accordingly, a billing device for an image processing device which can allocate a charge among a plurality of users without the need of complicated operations is provided.

Abstract:
This invention concerns an automatic exposure adjusting apparatus which permits infallible production of a signal corresponding exactly to the density of a given original document constantly even when the components of an optical system thereof cause any dispersion or gradual deterioration due to aging. First, the apparatus exposes a standard white subject copy 1 set on a document table 2 to the light of a preset standard amount of exposure, samples the reflected light from the copy 1 by a light detector 14, and adjusts to a proper magnitude the output value of an original document density signal emitted from a noninverting amplifier 33. Then, it exposes the standard density plate 3 to the light of an adjusted standard amount of exposure, samples the reflected light from the standard density plate 3 by the light detector 14, and readjusts to a proper magnitude the output value of an original document density signal issued from the noninverting amplifier 33. By this procedure, the apparatus is enabled to produce infallibly an original document of a proper density constantly.
