    Abstract: The invention concerns a process for preparing saccharide monomers comprising at least one polymerizable acrylate or methacrylate group whereby the saccharide used in the process is selected from mono-, di- and tri-saccharides, in particular from non-reducing mono-, di- and tri-saccharides.
