A disclosed system, method and computer readable storage medium includes mechanism for controlling cascade price movements in an electronic trading system. Price limits control the prices at which traders can place orders. An upper price limit prevents traders from placing orders above the upper limit and a lower price limit prevents traders from placing orders below the lower limit. The gap between the upper limit and the indicative market price as well as the gap between lower limit and the indicative market price is controlled so as to cause a breaking effect on very rapidly changing market price.

Abstract:
When multiple motors (40) share a common DC power supply (10) via a bus (20), a system and method is provided for managing the effect of regenerative energy caused by a motor. The regenerative energy may be sensed, e.g., by a power electronics controller (50, 50′). In response, one or more of the other motors currently in operation may be controlled to operate according to a reduced power factor. Thus, the excess energy is consumed without adding any new components or increasing the amount of work performed in the system.

An expansion tank which comprises a tank having a predetermined volume capacity; a flexible diaphragm in the tank, partitioning tank volume into a liquid-containing portion for holding liquid and a gas-containing portion for holding a gas under a pressure that defines a normal pressurized gas volume when the liquid-containing portion holds a predetermined liquid volume; and a proximity sensor suspended in the gas-containing portion of the tank and adapted to energize an alarm signal when volume of the gas-containing portion is reduced a predetermined amount as indicated by proximity of the diaphragm.
Abstract:
A Model Predictive Control System, particularly useful in controlling gas turbine engines, formulates a problem of controlling the engine to achieve a desired dynamic response as a solution to a quadratic programming problem. The Model Predictive Control System also includes a quadratic programming problem solver solving the quadratic programming problem in real time using an interior point algorithm that searches for an optimal solution.

An efficient method for solving a model predictive control problem is described. A large sparse matrix equation is formed based upon the model predictive control problem. The square root of H, Hr, is then formed directly, without first forming H. A square root (LSMroot) of a large sparse matrix of the large sparse matrix equation is then formed using Hr in each of a plurality of iterations of a quadratic programming solver, without first forming the large sparse matrix and without recalculating Hr in each of the plurality of iterations. The solution of the large sparse matrix equation is completed based upon LSMroot.

The substrates each include at least one opening, only one of which is substantially filled with a conductive paste prior to bonding. Abstract:
A venting system for venting a gaseous fluid from a tank having an aperture and a fuel delivery module cover. The tank is made of a predetermined material. The venting system comprises a venting valve disposed within the aperture. The venting valve includes a valve body having a top portion and a neck portion extending from the top portion. The top portion is disposed outside the tank and is engaged thereto. The venting system further includes a channel which connects to the valve body so that the venting valve is in fluid communication therewith and is attached to the fuel delivery module cover to allow the gaseous fluid in the tank to be vented therefrom. The venting system further includes a cover which is comprised of the same predetermined material and is welded to the tank to seal the valve between the cover and the tank.

A sand control screen assembly includes a base pipe, a mesh layer, and a sand screen layer. The base pipe includes a tubular surface and a plurality of perforations formed in the surface. The mesh layer is disposed around the base pipe. Additionally, the mesh layer comprises a plurality of functionalized fibers, wherein one or more of the plurality of functionalized fibers break off from the mesh layer when impacted by one or more particulates. In some embodiments, a sand control screen assembly includes a screen layer with a functionalized coating.
