Abstract:
To enable a user to readily determine the gauge of the needle of a needle assembly that has a base and a needle protective housing pivotably attached thereto, the needle assembly is injection molded from a color coded molding material which color was preassigned to correspond to the gauge of the needle. As a result, both the base and the protective housing of the needle assembly have the same specific color, and reflect or provide an indication of the given gauge of the needle. The needle sheath that covers the needle prior to use may be made of a plastics material that may be clear, or have the same or a different color than that of the needle assembly. The gauge of the needle of a fixed needle syringe could also be ascertained by its color coded needle protective housing. Color coded markings that correspond to the gauge of the needle may also be printed onto the syringe barrel of the fixed needle syringe.

A soft interior trim component for an aircraft cabin, for example a headboard cover for a lie-flat seat, as a soft layer of foam (24, 124) the front of which is covered by a cover (40). The component is attached to a surface to be covered by attachment means (26, 28-32;126, 129) which enable the component to be easily removed for replacement and/or cleaning. The attachment may comprise a double-sided adhesive tape (26;126) and a series of fasteners (28-32).

A steering wheel, comprising: an inner core; a cushion member disposed about the inner core; a first decorative trim member disposed over the cushion member, the first decorative trim member comprising a flexible layer; and a second decorative trim member disposed over the first decorative trim member, the second decorative trim member being more rigid than the first decorative trim member wherein a portion of the first decorative trim member is abraded to remove a portion of an exterior surface of the first decorative trim member to provide a roughened area for receiving an adhesive for securing the second decorative trim member to the first decorative trim member.

A process for preparing Z-5-carboxymethylene-1,3-dioxolan-4-ones is provided which includes the steps of reacting a bis-ketal or bis-acetal of tartaric acid with a potassium containing base to form the carboxymethylene-1,3-dioxolan-4-one. A process for preparing HIV integrase inhibitors employing the carboxymethylene-1,3-dioxolan-4-one inhibitor is also provided.

An apparatus for providing an isolated ground of a horn activation circuit of a steering wheel assembly comprising an airbag module, the apparatus comprising: an insulator for receiving and engaging a wire, wherein the wire and the insulator are configured to engage at least one securement member of the steering wheel assembly, wherein the airbag module is movably secured to the insulator for movement between a first position and a second position wherein the horn circuit is completed as the airbag module moves from the first position to the second position; and a wire harness electrically communicating with the wire and at least one contact portion of the airbag module, the at least one contact portion making contact with the wire as the airbag module moves from the first position to the second position.
Abstract:
Apparatus for efficiently exciting an electrodeless lamp to produce visible light. A source of microwave energy is coupled to a cylindrical cavity which encloses an electrodeless lamp. The cylindrical cavity includes a sidewall and end wall which is made from a metallic mesh which passes light produced from the electrodeless lamp. The electric field intensity within the cylindrical cavity is increased in the region above the lamp center. The increased electric field intensity produces a more uniform temperature across the bulb service, increasing the rate of plasma heating of gas molecules in the lamp.
