Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a sliding mechanism having a lubricating film formed on the sliding surface thereof, and capable of exhibiting friction-reducing performance; and a friction reduction method for the same. To that end, the present invention entails coating the sliding surface with chromium nitride, adding a molybdenum dithiocarbamate with molybdenum in the amount of 600-1000 ppm to diesel engine oil, setting the arithmetic mean roughness of the sliding member to 2-60 nm, and upon converting the Sommerfeld number viscosity to Pa·s, the speed to s−1, and the load to mean Hertzian stress (Pa), then the lubrication conditions for use are within the range of 2.12365×10−20 to 5.94509×10−19.

Abstract: A lubricating composition containing an organic molybdenum compound having excellent oxidation stability that provides lubricity for long periods of time is provided. The lubricant comprises a molybdenum amine compound obtained by reacting a compound containing a hexavalent molybdenum atom with an amine represented by the following formula (1): wherein each of R1 to R3 represents a hydrogen atom and/or a hydrocarbon group, and at least one of R1 to R3 is a chain hydrocarbon group having 14 or more carbon atoms; or the following formula (2) wherein R4 represents a chain hydrocarbon group having 10 or more carbon atoms, s represents 0 or 1, X and/or Y represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, an alkanol group or an alkyl amino group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and X and Y are not hydrogen atoms or hydrocarbon groups at the same time when s is 0. A lubricating composition containing the lubricant is also provided.

Abstract: There is provided a lubricating composition including a lubricating base containing an asymmetric sulfurized oxymolybdenum dithiocarbamate of the formula (1); a symmetric sulfurized oxymolybdenum dithiocarbamate of the formula (2); and a phenolic or aminic antioxidant. (wherein R1 to R5 are each a hydrocarbon group, provided that R1 to R4 are not concurrently the same group; and X1 to X8 are each a sulfur atom or an oxygen atom.) This lubricating composition meets both the required solubility of additives in base oils and long drain properties concurrently.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to provide an engine oil composition which fully exploits the performance of molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC), restricts degradation of MoDTC itself, and has a high MoDTC residual property even at the time of degradation, hence providing low friction and low wear for a long time, and which results in savings in fuel consumption. It is also directed to an engine oil composition having a high coefficient of friction and an extreme-pressure property under fluid lubricating conditions arising from extreme-pressures, in order to solve various problems encountered in friction. Abstract: The present invention is directed to providing a lubricating oil composition which contains an alkyl group asymmetric type molydbdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) as an essential component thereof and which exhibits far more excellent lubrication performance than a conventional lubricating oil composition containing an alkyl group symmetric type MoDTC conventional used in the field of lubricating oils.
