Abstract: A method for securing an electronic device comprising a signal output and an input apparatus against removal from a carrying device. The method includes inputting a code with the input apparatus, generating, with the code inputted with the input apparatus, via a data processing program, a signal at the signal output of the electronic device, providing a locking apparatus configured to secure the electronic device, comparing, with the locking apparatus, the signal with a predetermined target signal, and putting the locking apparatus into an unlocked state if a match exists between the signal and the predetermined target signal.
