Abstract:
Hand pliers for assembly purposes includes an assembly limb and a handle limb rotatably connected to one another via a first link joint. The handle limb is divided into an off-handle lever and a handle-near lever and these two levers are rotatably connected to one another by a bolt via a second link joint, wherein a tension wheel and a ratchet wheel with external toothing connected torsionally proof to it are pivotably arranged on the bolt side by side in axial direction, and the tension wheel engages into a tension device that connects both handle limbs to one another, and a spring-loaded dog ratchet is arranged at the handle-near lever, engaging into the ratchet wheel in such a manner that when the handle-near lever makes a latching movement it permits a rotation of the ratchet wheel on closing the pliers, but prevents its rotation in the opposite direction.

A device for exchanging a die plate of a molten bisphenol A prilling tower is described. The device comprises: (a) at least two die plates; (b) a guide which is in contact with the die plates; and (c) a drive mechanism, wherein the drive mechanism moves the die plates linearly and serially between an operating position and an exchange position along the guide. Also described is a process of automated operation of the device at the top of a bisphenol A prilling tower.

A process for the preparation of polycarbonate resins having a low yellowness index is described. The process involves converting phosgene with a sodium bisphenolate solution by means of a phase interface process performed with the exclusion of oxygen. The sodium bisphenolate solution used in the process has a dissolved oxygen content of

Abstract:
A method and a device for polishing disk shaped workpieces, has semiconductor wafers fixed on carrier plates, the carrier plates being pressed against a polishing plate, over which a polishing cloth is stretched, by means of polishing heads, and the polishing heads are accommodated in a polishing-plate superstructure. The carrier plates, following a polishing operation, are simultaneously lifted off the polishing plate by means of lifting devices in the polishing heads. The polishing-plate superstructure is displaced, together with the carrier plates, along a linear guide above a polishing line.
Abstract:
The headlamp has a reflector (10) and a light source (12). Disposed in the ray path of the light reflected from the reflector (10) there is a lens (18), which is received in a mounting (20) and consists of an elastically deformable material. The lens (18) is acted upon by at least one control element (22), by which a force can be applied to the lens (18) in order to deform it. The light passing through the lens (18) is influenced, i.e. deflected in its direction. In the nondeformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp exhibits a first characteristic, i.e. direction and scatter, and in the deformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp, because of the then different optical effect of the lens (18), exhibits a different, second characteristic.
Abstract:
A pliers for mounting purposes has two plier portions pivotably connected by a first pivot connection. Each plier portion has a jaw base body and a grip of a length that is a multiple of the length of the jaw base body. A first grip is divided into a first and second section. The first section, shorter than the second section, is located between the jaw base body and the second section. A second pivot connection pivotably connects the first and second sections and has a pivot bolt extending parallel to the pivot axis of the first pivot connection. A sprocket wheel and a ratchet wheel are rotatably connected to the pivot bolt and fixedly connected to one another. A chain connected to the second grip is guided across the sprocket wheel to the second section and extends in the longitudinal direction toward a tension spring at which it is fastened. A spring-biased follower pawl is connected to the second section such that upon closing the second section sprocket wheel and ratchet wheel rotate to close the pliers. The ratchet wheel has an outer toothing engaged by a spring-biased locking pawl that allows rotation of the ratchet wheel in a first direction during closing of the pliers but prevents rotation in the counter direction. A pin, connected to the locking pawl and accessible from the exterior of the pliers, is provided for disengaging the locking pawl temporarily from the outer toothing.
