Abstract:
This invention relates to a polythiol compound and an optical material therefrom. Having a rigid 1,4-dithian ring which increases the refractive index and Abbe's number, the polythiol compound used for the production of an optical material imparts the optical material with high heat resistance and excellent mechanical properties as well as excellent optical properties.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a substrate for information-recording media, which is formed of a polymer containing a specific acrylate-based monomer as an essential component. Since the acrylate-based monomer has a rigid skeleton similar to that of bisphenol A, the substrate for recording media, formed of the polymer of such a monomer, has high hardness and excellent heat resistance. Further, due to six fluorine atoms that the acrylate-based monomer contains, the substrate has advantages of low water absorptivity and easy die removability.
Abstract:
A copper clad laminate board for a printed circuit has a center plate which is a thermosetting resin containing hollow glass microspheres uniformly distributed in the resin. The center plate has sheets provided on both sides thereof, which sheets are a thermosetting resin having a reinforcing fabric. The board has a high electrical resistance and resists bending during subsequent processing.
Abstract:
A process for continuously molding a plate for an electrical printed circuit board wherein a resin containing uniformly distributed hollow microspheres having a specific gravity different from that of the resin is extruded into a vertically disposed moving double belt press maintained at a temperature which allows the extruded plate to harden almost completely. The plate exists the vertically disposed press maintaining a flexibility sufficient to be passed around a roller into a horizonal position where subsequent processing steps may be applied, such as lamination of reinforcing fiber and coating with a conductive material.
Abstract:
A method for the manufacture of crimped polyamide filament yarns. Polyamide filaments having non-circular cross sections are melt-spun, allowed to cool, and treated with a substantially non-aqueous oiling agent. They are passed around a feed roll, are passed in contact with a heated body having a curved surface and thus subjected to one-sided heating and then to drawing, are passed around a heated draw roll, and then are passed through a steam jet.

Abstract:
A polymer used for optical products wherein the polymer comprises 2,5-dimethyl-1,4-dithiane skeletons represented by formula (1): ##STR1## and 1,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane skeletons represented by formula (2): ##STR2## and a part of or all of bonds between the 2,5-dimethyl-1,4-dithiane skeleton and the 1,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane skeleton are thiourethane bonds. The polymer exhibits 1.63 or more of refractive index, 35 or more of Abbe's number and 100.degree. C. or more of second-order transition point. The polymer is prepared by polyaddition of 2,5-dimercaptomethyl-1,4-dithiane and 1,3,5-triisocyanatomethylcyclohexane.
