Abstract: In an aspect, an inflatable object includes an object body enclosing a chamber to receive air, and a valve mounted to the inflatable object body, including a valve body defining a passageway between the chamber and an ambient environment. The valve body has a shoulder. The valve body defines an outside end, which opens to the ambient environment, and an inside end, which opens into the chamber. The valve includes a one-way flap that is movable between an open position to permit fluid communication between the chamber and the ambient environment through the passageway, and a closed position. The one-way flap is biased to the closed position with a closing force selected to be overcomable to move the one-way flap to the open position by an airflow having a speed that is less than about 48 m/s, and which is at a pressure lower than 1 atmosphere.

Abstract: A system includes digital servo modules and building blocks that are assemblable in several permutations to construct robotic figures. A central controller communicates with the modules via communication channels, each subdivided into sub-channels. The system utilizes a discovery process wherein the central controller periodically transmits a discovery signal in each sub-channel until a newly attached module transmits a reply to the discovery signal. The central controller transmits position commands to the recognized servo modules and receives position feedback from the recognized modules. The system enables someone to easily program a robotic figure via: a learned motion mode, wherein joints are manipulated and the central controller records a trajectory for each servo module; a user motion capture mode, wherein user motions are captured via camera to generate servo trajectories; and an animation builder mode, wherein a virtual representation of the robotic figure can be manipulated on screen to generate servo trajectories.

Abstract: A collapsible pool is provided herein. The collapsible pool is provided as a pool with at least a top frame that supports a pool wall of the pool. The top frame is transformable between a top frame use position and a top frame storage position, where the top frame use and storage positions define distinct maximum cross-dimensions. The top frame of the pool is formed to be transformable between the top frame use and storage positions, and is supported in the top frame use position by a plurality of side struts. One end of each of the plurality of side struts being releasably securable to the top frame such that each of the plurality of side struts can pivot relative to the pool wall and top frame, where the pivoting of the side struts permits the collapsible pool to be moved between expanded and collapsed shapes.

Abstract: An inflatable device is provided, and contains a body and a mouth. The mouth is positionable in an open position and a sealed position. The body includes a flexible body wall that defines an interior volume. The body defines at least one air flow path from the mouth through the interior volume. The air flow path has an air flow path axis and has a cross-sectional area. The body further includes at least one structural member that applies a force on the flexible body wall transversely outward from the axis so as to urge the flexible body wall towards a transversely expanded state. The body is movable between an axially collapsed state and an axially open state along at least a portion of the air flow path and is urged towards the axially expanded state by a force applied by at least one of: the at least one structural member, and air flow into the body through the mouth when the mouth is held in the open position.
