The present invention relates to a novel process for substantially lime free dehairing and liming of skins/hides/pelts using metal silicate and an alkaline to obtain dehaired skins/hides/pelts of good quality and less polluted effluent from the dehairing process.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of a polyurethane dispersion with at least one extension agent B that has x hydroxyl groups and y amine groups, where x+y≥2 with x and y equal or larger than 0, and that has an additional functional group that is capable of forming a salt, such that the dispersion of the polyurethane has a solids content of at least 50 weight percent and does not contain acetone or other solvents or amines that have a boiling point of below 250° C.
Abstract:
A substituted acylaminopolyorganosiloxane (A) is a polyorganosiloxane containing substituted acylamino groups linked to silicon atoms of the polysiloxane skeleton via alkylene bridges or mono- or oligo-[alkylene-amino or alkylene-(substituted acyl)amino]-alkylene bridges. The alkylene contains 2-4 carbon atoms and the substituted acylamino groups are at least in part of formula and for the remaining part are selected from substituted acylamino groups of the formulae in which: X1 signifies hydrogen or the group —SO3−M+, X2 signifies hydrogen or the group —SO3−M+, with the proviso that one of X1 and X2 is —SO3−M+ and the other is hydrogen, R signifies C2-6-alkylene or cyclohexylene, and M+ signifies an alkali metal or ammonium cation. The substituted acylaminopolyorganosiloxane (A) and compositions thereof, in the presence of non-ionic or/and anionic surfactants (B), can be used as fat liquoring agents for fat-liquoring of animal hides, skins or pelts.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of a coating, coated substrate, film or sheet, in which process a coating mixture comprising a reactive system of polyisocyanate-functional, a polyketone-functional, a polyepoxide-functional, a polyanhydride-functional and/or a poly carbonate-functional compound or polymer and a dispersion or fine powder of a compound containing a reactive hydrogen, which mixture is not or low reactive at room temperature, is applied onto a substrate, resulting in a substrate coated with the coating mixture, followed by reacting the compounds mentioned above by elevating the temperature, in a substrate coated with the coating mixture, followed by reacting the compounds mentioned above by elevating the temperature, in which the reaction temperature and consequently the reaction rate can be adjusted as desired by the addition of an additive to the coating mixture, or to one of the reactants of the coating mixture, prior to the mixing with the other component. According to the invention optionally a second reactive system is present and both systems are essentially reacted as a sequential two step reaction and between these reaction steps the coating is remoulded. The invention further comprises a product obtained by the process.
Abstract:
The present disclosure concerns a module (100) for inline embossing of a leather product (1) comprising a leather support sheet (2) having a surface finish layer of one or more partially cured coating layers. The module comprises an application means (10) to apply a protective foil (4) onto the partially cured layer (3) to form a laminate (5). The module also comprises a pressure group (20) including an embossing roller (21) having an outer surface with a relief structure (22) so as to emboss a negative of the surface relief structure into the leather product, across the protective foil.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention relates to a composite structure with one or several polyurethane layers, which is substantially free of volatile organic compounds (VOC). In addition, the invention relates to the method of manufacturing such composite structure. Further, the invention relates to the use of such composite structure, in particular as artificial leather.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a coating, a coated substrate, an adhesive, film or sheet, which process comprises the application of a formulation mixture containing a reactive system onto a substrate. According to the invention a low VOC formulation mixture is used, wherein more than 40% of the carbon in the combined amount of the formulation mixture is modern carbon according to ASTM D6866.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of an aqueous polysiloxane-polyurethane dispersion wherein the polysiloxane is present as a side chain of the polyurethane resin and which are useful as part of the coating of a flexible sheet-like substrate.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of an aqueous polyurethane dispersion having flame retardant properties and being halogen-free, obtainable by incorporating a phosphine oxide polyol into the polyurethane and which are useful as part of the coating of a flexible sheet-like substrate.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of multifunctional polycarbodiimides, which are used as crosslinking agents, in which the polycarbodiimide is prepared by reacting mono- and polyisocyanates in the presence of a mono- or polyisocyanate that contains one or multiple additional reactive functional groups and in the presence of a carbodiimide catalyst, and thereafter terminating or chain extending the polycarbodiimide chain. Between 0 and 10% of an organic solvent and/or between 0 and 30% of a plasticizer and/or between 0 and 30% of a surface active component is added to the product during, before or after the polycarbodiimide forming reaction and/or the capping reaction and/or the chain extending reaction. Further, the invention relates to a coating mixture in which the polycarbodiimide is used as crosslinking agent and to the cured material obtained with the coating mixture.
