Abstract:
A needle selection mechanism for an automatic knitting machine, comprising at least two selector levers mounted to a carriage which is adapted to move along a needle retainer in which are disposed a plurality of selectors for knitting needles, wherein each selector is individually engageable with one of the selector levers, and different selectors are engageable with different selector levers, and wherein the selector levers set the selectors to either "knit" or "welt" positions.
Abstract:
A metal-organic polymer composite structure comprising a microphase-separated structure from a block copolymer composed of two or more polymer chains which are incompatible with each other bonded in an end-to-end manner, wherein one of the polymer phases of said microphase-separated structure selectively contains ultrafine metal particles arranged in a row or rows. A process for producing said metal-organic polymer composite structure, which comprises (i) the step of dissolving “metal ions” and “a block copolymer comprising one or more polymer chains having an affinity for the metal and, bonded thereto in an end-to-end manner, one or more polymer chains having no or little affinity for the metal” in a mixed solvent of “a high-boiling solvent having the ability to reduce the metal ion and having a boiling point of 80 to 200° C.” and “a low-boiling solvent having a boiling point of 10 to 80° C.”; (ii) the step of removing the low-boiling solvent at the boiling point thereof to cause the block copolymer to form a microphase-separated structure; and then (iii) the step of reducing the metal ions while removing the high-boiling solvent at the boiling point thereof.
Abstract:
A hard plate such as blank paper board can be held under suction on a table, such as the table of a coordinate plotter, with air holes bored therethrough, by superposing a soft sheet, which includes an air-permeable portion at a desired location and an air-impermeable portion made of an air-impermeable elastic material and surrounding the periphery of the air-permeable portion, over the table in such a way that the air-permeable portion is communicated with the air holes; superposing the hard plate on the soft sheet in such a way that at least the air-permeable portion is covered by the hard plate; and sucking air through the air holes to hold the hard plate by vacuum. Use of the soft sheet permits easy, prompt and sure positioning of the hard plate even if a warp or distortion is contained in the hard plate.
Abstract:
A plotter for causing a pen carriage to pick up a drawing needle pen from a pen socket so as to perform drawing, comprises: a support plate located immediately under the pen socket and biased toward a pen tip; and an anti-dry pad formed on an upper surface of the support plate, having elastic and hermetic sealing properties, the pen tip being inserted into the pad.
Abstract:
There are disclosed a metal-organic polymer composite structure, particularly a porous metal-organic polymer composite structure, for use as functional materials such as catalysts, and a method for producing the structure. The composite structure is composed of a microphase-separated structure from a block copolymer in which a metalphilic polymer chain and a metalphobic polymer chain are bonded together at each end, and ultrafine metal particles are contained in the metalphilic polymer phase of the microphase-separated structure.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a coordinate plotter with at least one automatic punching device, adapted to draw a desired picture by shifting a table and an autographic head, which is directed downwardly from a point right above the table, in the X-axis and Y-axis directions respectively. The at least one automatic punching device is provided in adjacent to a side edge parallel to the moving direction of the table and at a height equal to the upper surface of the table so as to form a positioning hole through a sheet laid on the table for drawing the desired picture thereon. The specification also discloses a method and apparatus for conveying sheets to the coordinate plotter.
Abstract:
A pen tip cleaning assembly of a plotter for performing drawing with a drawing needle pen held by a pen carriage, is provided wherein a two-dimensional pad of an elastic material is disposed in a drawing surface so as to allow insertion of a pen tip of the drawing needle pen, and the pen tip is moved relative to the two-dimensional pad, whereby the pen tip is cleaned every time the pen tip is inserted in a clean portion of the two-dimensional pad.
Abstract:
An image forming member, e.g. a pen or a cutter (for cutting image patterns), which member requires to be lowered onto and applied with a given pressure to a writing surface, is controlled in two modes. In a position control mode, the image forming member is controlled by means of a closed loop circuit by which it is lowered and positioned at a very small distance off of the writing surface. In accordance with a second, pressure control mode, the image forming member is controlled by means of an open loop circuit. With the aid of the open loop circuit the member is lowered and then applied with a given pressure to the writing surface. Thus, accurate and rapid controlling of such an image forming member is achieved.
Abstract:
An automatic mask cutting/drawing apparatus for preparing a mask film and for forming both positioning holes and a desired image mask pattern or a drawing of a desired line image includes a table for supporting a film material thereon, a first carriage movable along the table surface in a first direction, a second carriage movable on the first carriage in a second direction, first and second moving elements for respectively moving the first and second carriages in their respective directions, a vertically movable drawing element on the second carriage for drawing a desired image pattern on the film material, and a vertically movable cutter element adjacent the drawing element for cutting the film material. Both the drawing element and the cutter element are selectively activatable to form the positioning holes, the image mask pattern, or the drawing as desired and in accordance with commands which are inputted to the apparatus.
