Abstract:
A modular luggage and sleeping wedge apparatus for selectively deploying as either luggage or a sleeping wedge suitable to elevate a mattress. The modular luggage and sleeping wedge apparatus defines two discrete wedge members, each individually forming a triangular prism, which may be selectively attached together to form a rectangular prism receptacle. In an extendible wedge embodiment, the modular luggage and sleeping wedge apparatus includes a base wedge member and an extension wedge member, which may be deployed as a wedge while positioned end to end. In a double wedge embodiment, two mirror wedge members may be deployed side by side as an extended width wedge or a on top of one another as an extended height wedge.
Abstract:
An optical system with precision positioning of optical devices is disclosed generally comprising an optical device and a carrier for the optical device, where the carrier has substantially parallel first and second pivot axes and a third pivot axis that is substantially orthogonal to the first and second pivot axes that allows the optical device to be moved in three substantially orthogonal directions. In certain embodiments, the pivot axes are formed from hinges, which may be spring loaded or biased by a tensioning element running approximately forty five degrees to all three pivot axes. In some embodiments, the carrier is supported at least partly independently from an outer housing in order to insulate it from vibrations caused by vibrating devices mounted to the housing.
Abstract:
A method and device are provided to accomplish laser driven pyrolytic, photolytic and photoactivativation process requiring controlled atmosphere without the use of gas tight cells.A method and device are provided to correct clear faults on a photo-lithographic mask by metallic deposition on the mask at standard temperature and pressure. The deposition is formed by the pyrolytic decomposition of an organometallic gas mixture which may include chromium and molybdenum hexacarbonyls, and a buffer gas. The decomposition is done utilizing a laser beam. The device may be incorporated into a system which has other members used to correct opaque faults in the same mask.

Abstract:
An improved multiple grating spectrograph is provided comprising a grating changer for mounting gratings, and rotatable about an axis substantially perpendicular to grating lines such that changing from one grating to another preserves the wavelength-selecting angle of incidence of electromagnetic radiation. The grating changer preferably includes a grating holder, and an actuator for moving the holder about the axis.
