Abstract: A method of making an adhesive is provided, including obtaining an actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition disposed against a surface of an actinic radiation-transparent substrate and irradiating a first portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate for a first irradiation dosage. The method further includes irradiating a second portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate for a second irradiation dosage. The first portion and the second portion are adjacent to or overlapping with each other and the first irradiation dosage and the second irradiation dosage are not the same. The method forms an integral adhesive having a variable thickness in an axis normal to the surface of the actinic radiation-transparent substrate. Also, an adhesive article is provided, including a substrate having a major surface and an integral adhesive disposed on the major surface of the substrate. Further, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying an article; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process, the article based on the digital object. A system is provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of an article; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of an article.

Abstract: A fall protection device comprises an energy harvester to generate electrical power in response to movement of an elongate member and a circuit powered by the generated electrical power; an impact indicator connected to an elongate member, a controller connected to the elongate member and/or the impact indicator to generate a message in response to impact, and a transmitter connected to the controller to transmit the message; and/or a sensor connected to an elongate member and a controller connected to the sensor to generate a message in response to movement of the elongate member. The fall protection device could include a generator to generate electrical power, an energy storage capacitor to store the generated electrical power, a controller powered by the energy storage capacitor to generate a message in response to action, and a wireless transmitter powered by the energy storage capacitor to transmit the message.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods related to making a stamped article and articles and assemblies made therefrom. The methods include providing a partial replica of the stamped article having opposed first and second major surfaces, and then coupling the partial replica to a walled enclosure to provide a mold assembly having upper and lower chambers separated from each other by the partial replica. Compositions can be hardened in the upper and lower chambers to provide upper and lower tools having a shape complemental to the first and second major surfaces. After removing the upper and lower tools from the mold assembly, a deformable sheet can be pressed between the upper and lower tools to form the stamped article.

Abstract: A respirator is described that includes a mask body and at least one housing directly or indirectly coupled to the mask body. The at least one housing includes a pair of slots spaced apart from each other, a cantilevered snap feature disposed between the pair of slots, and a latch connected to the cantilevered snap feature. The respirator further includes at least one cover movably coupled to the at least one housing and including a pair of arms. Each of the pair of arms is disposed adjacent to a corresponding slot from the pair of slots and includes a wide end portion. The at least one cover further includes an elongate member extending between the pair of arms and connected to the wide end portion of each of the pair of arms. The elongate member is at least partially received through each of the pair of slots.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a core-sheath filament. The core-sheath filament includes an adhesive core and a non-tacky sheath, wherein the sheath exhibits a melt flow index of less than 15 grams per 10 minutes. The present disclosure also provides a method of printing an adhesive. The method includes a) melting a core-sheath filament in a nozzle to form a molten composition, and b) dispensing the molten composition through the nozzle onto a substrate. Steps a) and b) are carried out one or more times to form a printed adhesive. The core-sheath filament includes an adhesive core and a non-tacky sheath. Further, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying an article; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process using a core-sheath filament, the article including a printed adhesive based on the digital object. A system is also provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of an article; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of an article including a printed adhesive, using a core-sheath filament.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a knit fabric including at least one continuous copper filament formed into a knit fabric including a layer of knit copper fabric having a first major plane and at least one loop of copper filament extending out of the first major plane. A knit fabric is also provided that has an interlock pattern including at least two continuous copper filament paths per layer. A further knit fabric is provided that includes a spacer fabric knit having a first layer of knit copper fabric interconnected with a second layer of knit copper fabric. Methods of making the knit fabrics are provided, including twisting or wrapping at least one continuous copper filament with a load-carrying yarn. The load-carrying yarn exhibits a minimum bend radius that wraps around an object having a diameter of 0.43 millimeters. The methods further include setting at least one tension setting on a knitting machine and using a knitting program that defines a plurality of stitch settings to knit a fabric.
