Abstract: A new tableting formulation is described for erythromycin antibiotic formulations which produce, upon ingestion, surprisingly high blood levels regardless of whether the tablet is administered to fasting or nonfasting subjects. The new formulation contains magnesium hydroxide as a major tablet component together with the usual generally accepted excipients used in elegant tablet formulations.
