Abstract:
A shielded cable electrical connector is provided with a coaxial contact section having inner and outer contact members separated from each other by a dielectric means which carries the inner contact member. The outer contact member is provided with axially-spaced ferrule means coaxially aligned with ferrule member means of the inner contact member extending outwardly from the dielectric means. One of the axially-spaced ferrule means has a first section of substantially annular construction and a second section extending substantially tangentially outwardly from the first section so that a drain or ground wire of a shielded cable can be crimped between the first and second sections while a center conductor of the cable is crimped in the ferrule member means of the inner contact member.
Abstract:
A plug or connector assembly includes a number of side-by-side housings for containing a predetermined number of electrical contacts, the number of housings employed determining the dimensions of a contact matrix presented by the connector assembly. Each of the housing assemblies includes a plurality of apertures of holes for receiving a corresponding plurality of electrical contacts. A plurality of faceplate members are located over respective housings, each engaging fins outwardly extending from each end of the housing with which it is associated and having a corresponding plurality of holes to enable access to the electrical contacts. The housings and faceplate members are secured in position by screws through the fins and a receiving portion of each of the faceplate members. Strain relief means are also molded onto each of the identical side-by-side housings, the strain relief members intermediate the ends being selectively removeable to effect a pair of cooperating strain relief members to engage the conductors or wires which may be connected to the individual contacts of the connector assembly.
Abstract:
Electrical connector housing has improved means for mounting in a panel opening comprising a pair of trusslike structures on opposite sides of the housing. Each trusslike structure comprises diagonally extending beams and a ridge piece which extends between the beams and is integral with their ends. Mounting of the housing in a panel is achieved by inserting the housing though the opening until the surface portions of the panel which are adjacent to the opening engage the beams thereby to resiliently deform the trusslike structures until the ridge pieces of the structures are coplanar with the plane of the panel at which time the resiliently deformed beams urge the ridge pieces against the edges of the panel opening and maintain the housing in position.
Abstract:
A heating element connector and assembly, particularly useful for electric cooking ranges, formed as a U-shaped female connector with folded-over internal wings for making spring contact with a terminal pin of the heating element laid therein. Said connector being captured in a dielectric housing which is slotted longitudinally and vertically to permit access of the terminal pin to the U-shaped connector and which housing is dimensioned to prevent over-stressing of the material of the connector.
Abstract:
Electrical connector assembly comprises a pair of matable connector parts, each of which has mounting means thereon to permit mounting in a panel opening. Each part is also provided with latching arms which are cooperable to latch the parts together. Either pair of arms can be disengaged from the other pair by depressing the arms toward the connector body, the arrangement being such that the connector parts can be disengaged from each other regardless of which part is mounted in the panel opening.
