Abstract: A process of bleaching carboxylic acid esters and/or epoxy compounds by irradiating the esters and/or epoxy compounds with ultraviolet light in the presence of a peroxy compound. The preferred compounds bleached are the epoxidized higher fatty acid esters. Hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid are examples of suitable peroxy compounds.
