Abstract: The present invention relates to Disclosed herein is a multilayer coating system being present on an optionally pre-coated substrate and including at least three coatings layers L1, L2 and L3 being different from one another, the first layer L1 applied on an optionally pre-coated substrate, the second layer L2 applied over L1, and the third top coating layer L3 applied over L2, where layer L1 is formed from a primer coating composition and layer L2 is formed from a basecoat composition different from the primer coating composition, where the primer coating composition is free of or essentially free of metal effect pigments. Further disclosed herein are a method of preparing the multilayer coating system, a kit-of-parts and a method of using the kit-of-parts for improving the LiDAR reflectivity, measured at an angle of incidence of 0°, and the flop index, of multilayer coating systems.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a primer coating composition, which is free of or essentially free of metal effect pigments, including besides water and/or organic solvent(s), a film-forming polymer, optionally a crosslinking agent and further a pigment mixture P-C including in turn at least two kinds of pigments being different from one another, namely at least one organic black or inorganic black pigment P-C1, which is not a carbon black pigment, and which is transparent or substantially transparent to NIR-radiation or which is reflective or substantially reflective to NIR-radiation, and at least one inorganic white pigment P-C2, which is reflective or substantially reflective to NIR-radiation. Further disclosed herein are methods of forming a primer coating film and layer, an at least partially coated substrate, a multilayer coating system and a method for preparing the multilayer coating system.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a two-pack coating composition including A) a component A including Aa) one or more polysiloxanes with 4 or more isocyanate reactive groups; and Ab) one or more organic polymers, which differ from Aa) and which include a plurality of polysiloxane chains and isocyanate reactive functional groups; and B) a component B including Ba) a chemical species, which includes on average one or more free isocyanates groups and on average one or more hydrolysable silane groups and/or Bb) a chemical species including on average two or more free isocyanates groups and no hydrolysable silane groups. Also disclosed herein are a method of forming a cured coating layer on a substrate making use of the two-pack coating compositions and a method of using the two-pack coating composition for providing an icephobic coating to substrates.
