Carbon dioxide and VOC sorbents that include a porous support impregnated with an amine compound are provided. The sorbents include a gas-adsorbing material coated onto the porous support. The gas-adsorbing material includes a polyamine which is produced using a process that is free of formaldehyde as a reaction product and/or a reactant.

Methods of applying a sorbent coating on a substrate, a support, and/or a substrate coated with a support are described. One of the methods comprises: (i) optionally, preparing the substrate coated with the support by pre-treating the substrate with a slurry, wherein the slurry comprises: a. solvent, b. a binder, c. the support, and d. optional dispersant; and (ii) treating the substrate, the support, and/or the substrate coated with the support, with a sorbent.
Abstract:
Air treatment catalyst systems and methods for treating the air in the aircraft cabin environment are provided. The catalyst system and method remove ozone, volatile organic compounds, NOx and other pollutants. The catalyst system used to treat the cabin air comprises a plurality of discrete substrates having an ozone abatement catalyst loaded thereon and arranged in a stacked configuration between a source of the air stream and the passenger cabin, the at least the first two substrates adjacent the source of the air stream comprise an iron-based alloy.
