Abstract:
This invention relates to a process for the vulcanization of rubbers produced from halogen-free dienes in the presence of sulphur and/or sulphur donors and a combination of vulcanization accelerators consisting of derivatives of 1,3,5-triazine disulphide, an accelerator of the mercapto group containing type and optionally an accelerator of the thiuram accelerator. By using this combination the disadvantage of a long heating time when using the 1,3,5-triazine disulphide alone will be obviate without reducing the high moduli.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a vulcanisation accelerator combination and their use for a process for vulcanising natural and/or synthetic rubber made from halogen-free dienes. As vulcanisation accelerators triazines substituted in the 2, 4 and 6 positions in combination with at least one thiazole accelerator and optionally at least one thiuram accelerator are used. This accelerator combination obviate the disadvantage of the long cure time when using the triazine accelerator alone without loss of the advantage of the high moduli.
Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR THE VULCANIZATION OF TERPOLYMERS OF ETHYLENE AND PROPYLENE, ALSO KNOWN AS EPDM RUBBERS, IS DESCRIBED. MORE PARTICULARLY VULCANIZATION ACCELERATORS FOR SUCH A PROCESS HAVING THE FORMULA
(R-O)2-P(=S)-S-CO-S-P(=S)(-O-R)2
IN WHICH THE RADICALS R REPRESENT THE SAME OR DIFFERENT STRAIGHT CHAINED OR BRANCHED LOWER ALKYL RADICALS, EACH OF WHICH MAY BE SUBSTITUTED BY A LOWER ALKOXY GROUP, ARE DESCRIBED.
WHEREIN RR1 IS SELECTED FROM THE GROUP OF TERTIARY BUTYL, TERTIARY AMYL, TERTIARY OCTYL AND TERTIARY DODECYL; R2 IS ALKYL WITH 1 TO 12 CARBON ATOMS, PREFERABLY UNSUBSTITUTED ALKYL WITH 1 TO 4 CARBON ATOMS SUCH AS METHYL OR TERTIARY BUTYL; R'' IS ALKYL WITH 1 TO 12 CARBON ATOMS WHICH CAN BE SUBSTITUTED WITH A HYDROXYL, HALOGEN OR MERCAPTO GROUP, PREFERABLY ALKYL WITH 1 TO 4 CARBON ATOMS SUCH AS METHYL, HYDROXY ETHYL OR HYDROXY PROPYL; N IS AN INTEGER FROM 0 TO 12, PREFERABLY 0 TO 2; AND WITH THE PROVISO THAT THE -OH GROUP IS ORTHO OR R1. SUCH COMPOUNDS ARE USEFUL TO STABILIZE ISOCYANATES AGAINST DISCOLORATION DURING STORAGE.
