Abstract: Antibodies and antibody fragments that bind to human CD40 and inhibit interaction between CD40 and its ligand, CD40L are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods of using the antibodies and antibody fragments to inhibit hyperactivation of B or T cells and treat or prevent disorders such as autoimmune diseases.
