Abstract: A coated glass package comprising a glass body having a Type 1 chemical durability according to USP 660, at least a class A2 base resistance or better according to ISO 695, and at least a type HGB2 hydrolytic resistance or better according to ISO 719. A lubricous coating having a thickness of ≤100 microns may be positioned on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The portion of the coated glass package with the lubricous coating comprises a coefficient of friction that is at least 20% less than an uncoated glass package and the coefficient of friction does not increase by more than 30% after undergoing a depyrogenation cycle. A horizontal compression strength of the coated glass package is at least 10% greater than an uncoated glass package and the horizontal compression strength is not reduced by more than 20% after undergoing the depyrogenation cycle.

According to embodiments, a glass article may include a glass body comprising glass and having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the first surface is an exterior surface of the glass body. A coating disposed on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The coated glass article may have an effective throughput rate greater than or equal to 1.10×RT, wherein RT is the effective throughput rate of an uncoated glass article in units of parts per minute (ppm).

Abstract: The present disclosure provides coating compositions and cured products formed from the coating compositions. The cured products can be formed at high cure speeds from the coating compositions and feature low Young's modulus, high tear strength, and/or high tensile toughness. The cured products can be used as primary coatings for optical fibers. The primary coatings provide good microbending performance and are resistant to defect formation during fiber coating processing and handling operations. The coating compositions include an oligomer, an alkoxylated monofunctional acrylate monomer, and preferably, an N-vinyl amide compound.

Abstract: Methods for forming an electrode for use in forming a honeycomb extrusion die. The method includes forming, by means of an additive manufacturing process, an electrode includes a base having a web extending from the base. The web defines a matrix of cellular openings. The method further includes forming a secondary electrode having a plurality of pins. The plurality of pins are shaped and arranged so as to mate with the matrix of cellular openings defined by the web of the electrode. The method further includes machining the electrode using the secondary electrode to smooth surfaces of the electrode formed by the additive manufacturing process.

Abstract: Exhaust gas treatment articles and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed herein. An exhaust gas treatment article includes a porous ceramic honeycomb body with multiple channel walls defining cell channels that extend in an axial direction and an outer peripheral surface that extends in the axial direction. The exhaust gas treatment article further includes a metal layer that surrounds the porous ceramic honeycomb body and that is in direct contact with at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the porous ceramic honeycomb body. The metal layer includes a joint. Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to antimicrobial glass compositions, glasses, and articles. The articles include a glass, which may include a glass phase and a cuprite phase. In other embodiments, the glasses include a plurality of Cu1+ ions, a degradable phase including B2O3, P2O5 and K2O, and a durable phase including SiO2. Other embodiments include glasses having a plurality of Cu1+ ions disposed on the surface of the glass and in the glass network and/or the glass matrix. The article may also include a polymer. The glasses and articles disclosed herein exhibit a 2 log reduction or greater in a concentration of at least one of Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and E. coli, under the EPA Test Method for Efficacy of Copper Alloy as a Sanitizer testing condition and under Modified JIS Z 2801 for Bacteria testing conditions.
