Abstract: A liquid curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. The composition comprises: an organopolysiloxane (A) comprising: an organopolysiloxane (A1) containing at least 2 alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atom per molecule and having a total alkenyl content of from 0.01 to 1.5 mmol/g, and an organopolysiloxane (A2) containing at least 2 alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atom per molecule and having a total alkenyl content of from 5.0 to 15.0 mmol/g; an organopolysiloxane (B) comprising an organopolysiloxane (B1) containing at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule provided by siloxy units of the type (R2HSiO1/2)x where R is independently selected from hydrogen, an aliphatic a hydrocarbyl, an aromatic hydrocarbyl, or an organyl group and x≥2; a platinum based catalyst (C); an inhibitor (D) selected from the group consisting of acetylenic alcohols and their derivatives; and a silica filler (E).

Abstract: A liquid curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. The liquid curable silicone elastomer composition comprises an organopolysiloxane (A) containing at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, an organopolysiloxane (B) containing at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, a platinum based catalyst (C), an inhibitor (D), and a silica filler (E). The organopolysiloxane (B) is a branched polymer, contains M siloxy units, and the at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms are present on the M siloxy units. The inhibitor (D) is selected from the group consisting of acetylenic alcohols and their derivatives. The inhibitor (D) is present in the liquid curable silicone elastomer composition in an amount to provide a molar ratio—of the inhibitor (D) to platinum in the catalyst (C)—of from 150 to 900 (150:1 to 900:1).

Abstract: There is described a primer composition comprising a silicone polyether, a reinforcing filler, one or more polydiorganosiloxane polymer(s) and a carrier and the preparation and use thereof. The primer composition is particularly designed for use with silicone elastomers especially for addition (hydrosilylation) curing silicone elastomers, the preparation thereof, and to a process for improving the adhesion of silicone elastomeric compositions to pre-cured silicone elastomer material substrates. A method for improving the adhesion of silicone elastomer to a pre-cured silicone elastomeric substrate is provided. The method comprises: applying a primer composition to a silicone elastomer substrate; optionally, air-drying (or baking) the primer composition to form a uniform primer film covering the substrate; applying a hydrosilylation curable silicone rubber composition to the substrate covered with the primer to obtain a composite; and curing the composite in order to obtain a silicone elastomer adhesively bonded to a silicone elastomer substrate.

Abstract: A selective adhesion liquid silicone rubber composition is disclosed. The liquid silicone rubber composition comprises an organopolysiloxane (A) containing at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, an organopolysiloxane (B) containing at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, a platinum based catalyst (C), an inhibitor (D), a silica filler (E), and an adhesion promoter (F). The organopolysiloxane (B) comprises organopolysiloxane (B1) and organopolysiloxane (B2), wherein organopolysiloxane (B1) contains siloxy units of the type (R2HSiO1/2)x where x≥2. Each R is independently selected from a hydrogen atom, or an aliphatic hydrocarbyl, aromatic hydrocarbyl, or organyl group. The inhibitor (D) is selected from the group consisting of acetylenic alcohols and their derivatives.
