Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reservoir cover for use with hydroponic, aeroponic, aquaponic or similar systems used to cultivate plant articles without soil medium. The reservoir cover containing and re-directing water, nutrients, and other liquids, intentionally or un-intentionally leaked by the system, back into a reservoir or water source the reservoir cover is positioned upon. Within hydroponic, aeroponic, aquaponic or similar systems the plant article is held within a plant growing unit positioned above the reservoir cover. As water is dispersed from within said systems gravity directs movement of water, nutrients, and other liquids to the reservoir cover of the present invention. As water, nutrients and other liquids are leaked or lost from the plant growing unit the reservoir cover is positioned such that water, nutrients and other liquids are not dispersed to an undesirable location, but rather are re-directed back in the original water source or reservoir.
Abstract:
A dry sprinkler installation and sealing device for a cold environment is disclosed. The dry sprinkler installation includes a supply conduit having a first end adapted to communicate with a fire retardant fluid source and a second end supporting a sprinkler head. The supply conduit is dimensioned to extend through an opening in a wall of a cold environment, e.g., a freezer ceiling. A flexible sealing device is positioned about the supply conduit adjacent an exterior surface of the cold environment. A first end of the sealing device is secured about the supply conduit and a second end of the sealing device is secured to an exterior surface of the cold environment. The flexible sealing device allows for radial and axial adjustments to the supply conduit and sprinkler head without comprising the integrity of the sealing device.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a PWB having a heat sink connected to the internal circuits of the PWB that allows for heat dissipation from those internal circuits. In one aspect, the PWB includes at least two insulating layers that are coupled together and that have a conductive layer located therebetween. A conductive interconnect is located on an edge of or through the PWB and is thermally coupled to the conductive layer and a heat sink. The conductive layer forms a thermal conductive path from the conductive layer to the heat sink and thereby allows for heat to be dissipated from within an internal portion of the PWB.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a plant holding unit for supporting a plant on a generally vertical member. A plant container held by plant holding unit is held below a plane approximately normal to the outer surface of the generally vertical member. The plant holding unit is configured to support a plant container on a generally vertical member. The plant holding unit includes an opening having an axis and a perimeter edge, wherein the axis is approximately perpendicular to the first plane defining a general direction of plant growth. The plant holding unit also includes a barrier extending generally vertically from and attached to the perimeter edge, wherein the barrier forms a water retaining area.

Abstract:
A vacuum packaging machine and a conveyor to deliver a product package from an upstream station to a position adjacent a vacuum chamber. The conveyor has a longitudinal direction defined by the direction of travel of the product package. The vacuum chamber has a heat sealing and cutting assembly oriented transversely to the longitudinal direction of the conveyor and in a position with sufficient spacing between end walls of the vacuum chamber and the assembly for the product package containing two or more products to be loaded into the vacuum chamber with at least one product located in front of the heat sealing and cutting assembly and at least one other product located behind the heat sealing and cutting assembly. The heat sealing and cutting assembly seals and cuts between two products to form two separate evacuated packages.
Abstract:
A vacuum packaging machine includes a plurality of vacuum chambers (3a, 3b) each arranged to receive at least one unsealed product package and operable to perform an independent vacuum sealing operation, each vacuum chamber having a longitudinal direction defined by a direction of travel of the respective product package through the chamber (3a, 3b), each chamber having a heat seal assembly (15) therein which extends transversely to the longitudinal direction. An infeed conveyor (17) can be provided with a telescoping portion (17a) which can extend over the heat seal assembly or a part thereof. Each vacuum chamber can have a respective bed (9) and independently moveable hood (11), and the beds (9) can be synchronously vertically moveable. The vacuum packaging machine can be used in combination with a suitable product bagging or wrapping machine.

Abstract:
A strike plate assembly for mounting on a door frame is disclosed. The door frame forms a clearance hole for receiving the strike plate assembly. A mounting plate is affixed to the door frame in the clearance hole. The mounting plate forms an opening for receiving a bolt from a door knob or lock, such as a dead bolt lock, and forms two substantially parallel slots. A strike plate is affixed to the mounting plate. The strike plate also forms an opening for receiving a bolt from a door knob or lock and forms two substantially parallel slots which are at right angles to the two substantially parallel slots of the mounting plate. Each of the parallel slots of strike plate crosses over a corresponding one of the parallel slots of the mounting plate when the strike plate is properly affixed to the mounting plate. A pair of nuts and bolts affix the strike plate to the mounting plate. One bolt fits through each of the parallel slots of the strike plate and the corresponding parallel slot of the mounting plate. The pair of nuts secure the pair of bolts such that the position of the bolts can be adjusted in the parallel slots of the mounting plate and in the parallel slots of the strike plate, allowing the strike plate to be adjusted both vertically and horizontally with respect to the mounting plate. The opening formed by the strike plate substantially overlaps the opening formed by the mounting plate, although the opening formed by the mounting plate would normally be substantially larger than the opening formed by the strike plate.
Abstract:
A container fracturable along a break path having a generally constant wall thickness about the break path is disclosed. In order to provide a specific break path without reducing the structural integrity of the container, the body of the container is configured to concentrate stress along the break path.
