Abstract: This disclosure deals with extending the high voltage operation of energetic charged-particle extended-dimension beam curtain generators, preferably electron beam curtain generators, without permitting breakdown between evacuated electrode structures, by employing specially shaped high voltage pulses of substantially comparable very steep rise and fall times, preferably by resonant transformer action, while limiting the much longer pulse time duration to a value insufficient to permit such breakdown.
