Abstract: Improvements in a fixture housing with dog ears is disclosed that can be installed from one side of a wall or ceiling. This increases the ability of the installer to place the fixture in a desired location as opposed to using a location that provides the best access on stud or joists. Once the ideal location is identified the installer uses a saw to cut an opening in the desired location. The housing is pushed into the opening for installation without requiring access to the back of the wall, ceiling or floor. The fixture housing uses a plurality of spring loaded dogs that are operated from the visible wall or ceiling surface. It is also possible for the fixture to be removed by lifting the locking tabs and sliding securing ears where the entire fixture can then be pulled back through the open hole.

Abstract: Improvements in a light with a speaker for home or business installation. The lighting fixture houses the audio receiver/audio amplifier for the speaker, the lighting element and control driver for the lighting element. Keeping all of these elements in the same fixture creates a single package for installation. The light emitting diode (LED) has a heatsink that conducts heat from the LED to an area at the top of the fixture. Diverting the heat away from the LED moves the heat away from the speakers and also opens the lower area of the fixture for better acoustics. The heatsink passes through a large diameter woofer that moves air for cooling of the heatsink and the LED lighting. The audio receiver/audio amplifier for the speaker can obtain an audio signal from a wired or wireless connection. A microphone can also be included for two-way communication.

Abstract: Improvements in a reusable locating bracket for a recessed speaker or light bracket is disclosed. The bracket matches the hole diameter for a speaker of light. The bracket is installed prior to installation of drywall and is used as a trim guide. After installation of the drywall and cutting or trimming of the opening, the bracket is folded, bent, rotated or articulated where it can be removable through the trimmed opening in the drywall or sheet rock. The bracket has folding hinges for retaining side supports. The side supports are typically strips of cardboard, chip board or other material that provides a span from the bracket to studs, joists or beams. The folding hinges have teeth that grip the cardboard and can be opened to pull the cardboard through the retainer.

Abstract: A combination low voltage light and sound producing fixture is disclosed for installation in a yard wall or ceiling or on a wall or ceiling. Outdoor lighting and sound is produced with low voltage lighting that is wired or solar powered for operation. The fixture may further include digital signal processing to modify the sound to account for obstructions in near or around the fixture. The fixture may include a feedback system that allow the fixture to self modify its frequency response. The signal to the fixture is provided by wired or wireless interface. The surface of the sound transducer can be reflective in nature to provide focusing or diffusion of the light from the lighting elements.
