Abstract: The invention is a liquid composition of matter useful as a metal working lubricant. The composition comprises a primary lubricity component, such as a polyether or polyether ester, and dissolved salts of carboxylic acids. The composition preferably contains not more than 0.2 percent of any element except carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, alkaline earth metals, alkali metals, inorganically bonded halogens, inorganically bonded nitrogen, inorganically bonded sulfur, and inorganically bonded phosphorus.

Abstract: Railroad wheel flange lubricating is carried out with a lubricating composition which is particularly useful in a locomotive-mounted applicator. The water base lubricant comprises a compatible blend of two polyoxyalkylene glycols, one a synthetic lubricant and the other a synthetic thickener. The lubricating composition is persistent and environmentally innocuous.

Abstract: A method has been discovered for recovering polyoxyalkylene glycols from wastewater. A skimming surface is heated to a temperature above the cloud point. The heated surface is contacted with the wastewater, causing the polymer to deposit. Deposited polymer skimmed from the surface is recovered. Heating, or other processing of the bulk wastewater is avoided.

Abstract: A system and process for recycling alkaline aqueous cleaners for electronic components. Such cleaners generally contain saponifiers which react with rosin flux on the electronic components to form rosin soaps. Spent cleaner is concentrated, the pH is lowered to cause a separation between the cleaner and the soils within the cleaner. The cleaner then is filtered to further remove any soils. The filtered cleaner is then reconstituted to a determined concentration and pH level and returned to the cleaning system.
