Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for transient adhesive polymers, methods of making transient adhesive polymers, structures including the transient adhesive polymer attaching two portions of the structure to one another, and the like.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an anion-exchange membrane (AEM) having a multiblock copolymer including a hydrophilic norbornene-based monomer and a hydrophobic alkene-based or norbornene-based monomer. The hydrophilic norbornene-based monomers include one or more cationic head groups such as a quaternary ammonium ion, which can optionally be crosslinked with a crosslinking agent to increase the structural stability of the polymer. These AEMs can be employed in electrochemical devices such as fuel cells.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to depolymerizable poly(aldehydes) and systems and methods of efficiently synthesizing the same. An exemplary method of making a polymer comprises continuously flowing a polymerization solution through at least a portion of a reactor, and generating a poly(aldehyde) polymer from the polymerization solution.

Abstract:
In microelectronic applications, it is often desired to deposit and pattern a permanent dielectric film in order to electrically and mechanically isolate components. Photo-patternable dielectrics are attractive for these uses because of their reduced time and cost requirements. These permanent dielectrics should be high-speed, positive-tone, and aqueous-developable. This type of patternability may be achieved by using a chemically amplified deprotection reaction of tert-butoxycarbonate or tert-butyl acrylate catalyzed by a photo-inducible acid. Provided herein are: a composition for preparing a dielectric film comprising a polymer mixture, wherein the polymer mixture comprises a base polymer comprising a pendent protected organic functionality, a photocatalyst for deprotecting the protected organic functionality and a chemical cross-linker for cross-linking the dielectric film after a photo-patterning has taken place in an aqueous solution; a dielectric film prepared from said composition; and method of preparing a dielectric film.

Abstract:
Self-immolative polymers and compositions comprising such polymers are described. The polymers are copolymers of phthalaldehyde and one or more additional aldehydes and can degrade/decompose upon exposure to a desired stimulus, like light, heat, sound, or chemical trigger. The copolymers can be linear or cyclic, and can be crosslinked or uncrosslinked. Polymer compositions, including multilayered and multiregioned compositions, containing the copolymers are disclosed. These compositions can contain agents such as crosslinking agents, crosslinking catalysts, photocatalysts, thermocatalyst, sensitizers, chemical amplifiers, freezing point depressing agent, photo-response delaying agents, and the like. Methods of making and using the copolymers are also described.
