Abstract:
A system includes an exhaust gas an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) mixer which includes a housing and a first passage in the housing. The first passage may be configured to supply an EGR flow into the housing. The system further includes a second passage in the housing, such that the second passage is disposed about the first passage. The second passage is configured to supply at least one fluid flow into the housing. The system also includes a region downstream from the first and second passages, and a fluid outlet downstream from the region.

Abstract:
A power cylinder system for a reciprocating engine includes a piston configured to move within a cylinder of the reciprocating engine. The system also includes a groove extending circumferentially about the piston and configured to support a ring. An axially-facing surface of the groove has circumferential undulations at ambient temperatures that are configured to compensate for distortions to the groove caused by operation of the reciprocating engine.
Abstract:
A system includes a control system configured to monitor operating conditions in at least a first cylinder of a reciprocating engine and to control the reciprocating engine, wherein the control system includes a first sensor configured to monitor a first type of operating condition of the first cylinder, and a controller communicatively coupled with the first sensor. The controller is configured to receive a first signal indicative of a first measurement of the first type of operating condition from the first sensor; analyze the first signal to detect a misfire condition in the first cylinder; derive an amount of residual gas in the first cylinder if the misfire condition is detected; and adjust control of the reciprocating engine based on the amount of residual gas.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and non-transitory media for monitoring a reciprocating compressor determining a valve opening of a valve disposed in the reciprocating compressor using a sensor and determining a first location of a piston of the reciprocating compressor at the valve opening. The monitoring also includes determining a valve closing of the valve using the sensor and determining a second location of the piston at the valve closing. Furthermore, the monitoring includes estimating a volumetric efficiency based at least in part on the first and second location.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving a fuel composition analysis, deriving a fuel index based on the fuel composition analysis, deriving a control adjustment for a gas engine based on the fuel index, and applying the control adjustment to an actuator of the gas engine.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method is provided. The method includes receiving a signal representative of an engine vibration transmitted via a knock sensor, wherein the knock sensor is disposed in an engine. The method additionally includes deriving a valve wear measurement during operation of the engine based on the signal. The method further includes communicating the valve wear measure.
Abstract:
A tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium includes computer instructions stored thereon, the computer instructions, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to retrieve model inputs indicative of mechanical systems data, economic data, contractual data, regulatory data, or any combination thereof, associated with at least one compression system. Furthermore, the instructions cause the processor to retrieve a model that derives an operation schedule for the at least one compression system based on the model inputs. Then the instructions cause the processor to derive an operation schedule for the at least one compression system based on the model inputs and the model, and apply the operation schedule to the at least one gas compression system.
Abstract:
A system for recirculating exhaust gas includes a cooling subsystem configured to cool the exhaust gas; a condensation removal subsystem; and a temperature adjustment subsystem. The cooling subsystem may include a first cooling component configured to cool the exhaust gas to a first intermediate temperature and a second cooling component configured to cool the exhaust gas to a temperature below the saturation temperature. The condensation removal subsystem may include a mist eliminator configured to remove condensate and particulate matter from the exhaust gas and a reheater where exhaust gas is reheated to above the saturation temperature.
